The Hub Airing Holiday-Themed Episodes Of “Batman: The Animated Series”

The classic Batman: The Animated Series episodes “Christmas with the Joker” and “Holiday Knights” are scheduled to air as part of special holiday-programming on The Hub network. Both episodes feature Batman and his supporting cast facing off against villains with a holiday backdrop. The Hub will air the episodes back-to-back as part of a holiday programming event on Tuesday, December 25th, 2012 starting at 7:00pm (ET/PT). Batman the Animated Series – “Christmas with the Joker”
Tuesday, December 25th, 2012 at 7:00pm on The Hub

The Joker takes over Gotham’s airwaves and terrorizes the city during Christmas. Holding Commissioner Gordon, Detective Bullock, and Summer Gleason hostage, he challenges Batman to find him before midnight, or else the hostages will have a very un-merry Christmas.



Batman the Animated Series – “Holiday Knights”
Tuesday, December 25th, 2012 at 7:30pm on The Hub

Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy kidnap Bruce Wayne with Ivy’s hypnotic lipstick, and use his credit cards to treat themselves to a Christmas shopping spree; Bullock and Montoya stake out a Gotham Department Store for pick pockets, but in actuality, it turns out to be the return of Clayface; Joker plans to kill all the people celebrating in Gotham Square on New Year’s Eve with a sonic weapon. It is up to Batman and Robin to stop him before the stroke of midnight.

Batman: The Animated Series airs regularly Monday – Thursday at 7:00pm (ET/PT) on The Hub, with additional airings throughout the week.

“DC Nation,” “Green Lantern: The Animated Series,” “Young Justice” Teaser Videos Released

Cartoon Network has officially provided The World’s Finest with teaser videos for the upcoming January 2013 returns of Green Lantern: The Animated Series, Young Justice, and the one-hour DC Nation programming block. Cartoon Network released these teaser videos earlier in the week solely through their assorted social media outlets. All three videos spotlight upcoming episodes of the DC Nation series Young Justice and Green Lantern: The Animated Series, along with bonus material set to air during the hour-long programming block. Unlike other websites, The World’s Finest gained permission of the network to post the videos. All three videos are presented in the MP4 format. DC Nation returns January 5th, 2013 to Cartoon Network, featuring new episodes of Green Lantern: The Animated Series and Young Justice, plus new animated shorts and content.

Warner Home Video Announces Bi-Coastal Premieres For “Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part Two,” New Images

Warner Home Video has provided the following press details for the bi-coastal premieres of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part Two, the latest film in the DC Universe Animated Original Movie line. Arriving on home video January 29th, 2013, this latest animated DC Comics-based film is the conclusion to the two-part adaptation of the acclaimed 1980s comic series The Dark Knight Returns starring a retired Batman who dons the cape and cowl to deal with a city decaying into crime. Similar to previous titles in the DC Universe Animated Original Movie line, including the first installment of this two-part animated feature, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part Two is receiving a big-screen debut in partnership with the historic The Paley Center for Media. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment and The Paley Center for Media proudly present the bi-coastal premieres of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 2, the epic conclusion to Frank Miller’s comic masterpiece and the next entry in the popular, ongoing series of DC Universe Animated Original PG-13 Movies. The film will have its World Premiere in New York on January 23, 2013 and its West Coast Premiere in Los Angeles on January 28, 2013. Filmmakers and members of the voice cast will attend both events for red carpet media interviews and post-screening panel discussions.

On Wednesday, January 23, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 2 will screen at the Paley Center in New York City (25 West 52nd Street) with media interviews starting at 5:15 p.m. and screening commencing at 6:30 p.m. Following the screening, cast and filmmakers – led by eight-time Emmy Award winning dialogue/casting director Andrea Romano – will take part in a panel discussion of the film. Additional panelists will be announced as confirmed.

On Monday, January 28, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 2 will screen at the Paley Center in Los Angeles (465 North Beverly Drive in Beverly Hills) with media interviews starting at 5:30 p.m. and screening commencing at 7:00 p.m. A panel discussion will follow the screening featuring cast and filmmakers including executive producer Bruce Timm, director Jay Oliva, writer Bob Goodman and dialogue/casting director Andrea Romano. Additional participants will be announced as confirmed.

A limited number of free tickets are available for the general public.

Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 2:
With Gotham City back under his watchful eye, and accompanied by able sidekick Robin, Batman continues to battle crime – but his resurgence awakens a far worse evil at Arkham Asylum: The Joker. In the meantime, Superman has been dispatched by the President to halt Batman’s unsanctioned reign by whatever means necessary. Between the Joker’s diabolical scheme to drag Batman to the darkest levels of insanity, and the Man of Steel’s seemingly invincible physical presence, the Dark Knight must confront adversaries and allies simultaneously while maintaining the peace in Gotham City.

Primetime television stars Michael Emerson (Person of Interest, Lost) and Mark Valley (Human Target, Fringe) join the voice cast as The Joker and Superman, respectively; and popular talk show host Conan O’Brien gives voice to animated talk show host Dave Endochrine. Fanboy favorite Peter Weller (RoboCop, Dexter) continues as Bruce Wayne/Batman, and he is once again accompanied by David Selby (The Social Network, Dark Shadows) as Commissioner Gordon, Ariel Winter (Modern Family) as Carrie/Robin, and Michael McKean (This is Spinal Tap) as Dr. Bartholomew Wolper. Also featured in the voice cast is Maria Canals-Barrrera (Wizards of Waverly Place) as new Commissioner Yindel, Paget Brewster (Criminal Minds) as Lana Lang, and Radio Hall of Fame member Michael Jackson as Alfred.

DC Comics Releases Latest Issue Of “Young Justice” Series, Available In Print And Digitally

Young Justice #23, the latest issue of the DC Comics title based on the current Cartoon Network animated series of the same name, arrives in comic book and hobby stores today. This issue features scripting duties by Greg Weisman with Christopher Jones providing the art. Young Justice #23 continues the six-part story-arc featuring the characters and setting from the Young Justice: Invasion second-season setting, the final story-arc for the comic title. The Hub Schedules “Superman: The Animated Series” Two-Hour Mini-Marathon

The Hub has scheduled a two-hour mini-marathon of Superman: The Animated Series episodes to air today, December 18th, 2012. According to schedule details provided by the network, episodes “Apokolips…Now!” and “Little Girl Lost” will air back-to-back on December 18th, 2012 starting at 4:00pm (ET/PT). Following that, The Hub will air “Legacy, Part One” today at 6:30pm (ET/PT), with “Legacy, Part Two” airing tomorrow, December 19th, 2012 at 6:30pm (ET/PT). Darkseid brings his battle against Superman to Earth. While all looks hopeless, Orion, an escapee from Apokolips’ firepits, teams up with Superman to defeat Darkseid’s advances.

Steppenwolf, a hunter from Apokolips, joins Darkseid in his battle to take over Earth, which results in a crushing blow to Metropolis and Superman — the death of a friend.

While Superman is exploring the remains of his home world of Krypton, he finds a teenage girl who is the last survivor of Argos, a sister planet of Krypton. He brings her to Earth where she gains superpowers like Superman’s. Wanting to prove herself, she single-handedly takes on Granny Goodness and the rejuvenated Intergang.

When Granny Goodness calls upon her Female Furies from Apokolips for help, Superman comes to his “cousin’s” aid. When the Furies capture Superman and take him to Apokolips, it is up to Supergirl to rescue him.
