I watched Patriot Act this past weekend and I noticed they changed the sound effects of bullets coming out of guns into a laster burst type sound. I remember the big issue of turning actual guns and bullets into laser guns in the 80’s cartoons but Bruce Timm and co. bringing back actual guns and bullets (and their sound fx) in their DC cartoons. Now it seems they’ve been tweaked for this rebroadcast look like guns and bullets but sound like lasers. This is terrible, unnecessary, and an overreaction or wrong reaction to what is going on in society today (i.e. school shootings, etc.). Bottom line, I disagree and don’t like this decision to alter the artists’ original vision of these great shows.

Actually, they’ve also done this for some earlier episodes of this edited version of JLU.

Besides, the edits are requested by the CW anyway, and Saban doesn’t have much new original shows, which is why many people have bashed Vortexx for mostly being a rerun haven. Besides, CW CEO Les Moonves said “more crazy people would turn bad and shoot students in the schools,”; 1 of the reasons why Power Rangers got kicked out of the block, so that’s why these edits have been happening.

The show’s also on Netflix in its original version and on DVD, if you have those.
