First Appearance:
Batman Adventures #1
Adventures Changes: Received shock treatment; almost
married Harley Quinn
Bio: After so many times of being put back into Arkham,
the Joker was put through a drastic motive to "cure" him: shock
treatment. Though this seemingly worked for awhile, Harley grew
tired of the kindler, gentler Joker and pretended to be
interested in Batman. This one move that Harley did pushed Joker
back over the edge.
On down the line, Harley devised a plan that would surely push
the Joker over the edge into marrying her. Faking an envelope
that made it appear that Harley inherited millions from her
deceased aunt, The Joker saw the letter lying around and read it
and the wheels immediately began turning. Marrying Harley and
then murdering her would give him the millions he needed for his
"next big" whatever.
With the wedding all set to go, only two things kept it from
happening: Ivy's protest and, naturally, Batman. Though Ivy
escaped early on, Batman stayed behind to reveal to Joker that
it was simply a hoax--the letter was written by Harley and
didn't even have a post mark on the stamp, signifying that it
had never been mailed. When asking Harley if she had planned
this all along, and knew that he very well may have killed her,
she meekly replied with an "Uh Huh." Being The Joker he is, he
had only one thing to say about it: "Talk about romance!
Of course I would have killed ya, you silly girl! Come
to poppa, pudding!"
