Review:

That was a satisfying end to the first season of Green Lantern: The Animated Series. Not bad for a show that I had very little interest in a year ago.

I think the only negative was that while the fight was fittingly pretty brutal, Atrocitus went down a bit like a jobber, especially since he was beaten pretty easily by Razer awhile ago. Still, I thought he got some good bits here and I'm sure if they could have had another minute or two it would have been a more satisfying end for him. I'm sure he'll be back.

Hal's little adventure was confusing at first but they had a pretty good reason for it. It reminded me of the cool bait and switch they had with Byth Rok two episodes ago. I liked that he gave Carol a kiss before heading off to the unknown, if only they had been in front of a jet engine ...

But yeah, how great was the Kilowog, Saint Walker, and Mogo side of the story? This whole season Kilowog had somewhat of a shaky win-loss record, but here he just went straight for it even though there was no chance of a win here. And for a guy who by his own admission only makes hammers he sure has made the most interesting and cool constructs in the show so far. And if you're going to make gun constructs make them as silly as possible.

Saint Walker had an awesome debut as a Blue Lantern with taking out that warship ... his style was pretty cool. And Mogo finally got that long-awaited payoff. I like that they were able to put a planet-sized Green Lantern in trouble, too. Can't wait until the next season and here's hoping for those planned 3rd and 4th seasons the producers have in mind come to pass!
