Quotes
THORNE: You think you iced the Batman, hun? Heh heh heh. . . Not on your best day, Jake! I'd cover my back if I were you.
--
LESLIE: You never follow my instructions. Your Father, God rest him, he called you stubborn from the day you were born. Always used to say you had a very hard head, he didn't know the half of it!
--
MATT WALKS INTO THE ROOM WITH A SYRINGE IN HIS HAND.
LESLIE: Of course, that's for me, isn't it? My payment for services rendered? You're no better than your brother.
MATT: I'm sorry, Leslie. I don't have any choice.
MATT STABS THE THUG HOLDING LESLIE WITH THE SYRINGE.
--
BATMAN GRABS LESLIE IN MID-FALL AND SWINGS HER UP TO A WINDOW LEDGE.
LESLIE (relieved): I thought I told you to take the day off!
--
BRUCE: Bruce Wayne, Dr. Thorne. Thomas Wayne's son. Did you get my letter?
MATT: Yes. Thomas Wayne. . .
BRUCE: I told you I could help you with your legal costs. Maybe even put in a good word for the judge.
MATT: Yes, but what do you get out of it?
BRUCE: Well, there is something you can do for me. . .
MATT (disgusted): I knew it! I knew there'd be a catch. Sorry, Mr. Wayne, Matthew Thorne is no longer for sale.
BRUCE: I'm not looking for any illegal favors!
MATT (angered): What then?!
BRUCE: Something you know. Something only you can give me.
BRUCE MUSTERS UP COURAGE.
BRUCE: Tell me about my father.
MATT LOOKS SURPRISED, THEN HAPPY. HE TAKES BRUCE BY THE SHOULDER AND SITS HIM DOWN AT THE TABLE TO TALK.

Review: The only real worthwhile moments in this episode were ones dealing with Thomas Wayne, especially the final scene between Bruce and Matthew Thorne. It added a depth to the whole dealing rather than just a situation with Rupert Thorne and the medical laser (which was quite weak).

The animation wasn't terribly special. It had some spastic movements such as Batman's flips away from the laser. The episode was also extremely dark compared to other episodes. It was difficult to see objects and even characters at times. This didn't exactly suit the scenes considering they took place in a doctor's office and in an operating room. One would expect a bit more light when operating on someone.
