Review
Unless you are a fan of the episodes featured on this DVD, and like not
a single other, there is no reason to pick up this barebones DVD
release. In an effort to get their VHS catalogue onto DVD, WHV slapped a
couple random The Adventures of Batman & Robin episodes onto DVD,
with no extras in the slightest. The result is very underwhelming.
Speaking of underwhelming, the episode selection - "Eternal Youth,”
"House and Garden," The Mechanic," and "Birds of a Feather" - isn't
really worth the purchase, especially when you can get these episodes in
a more meaty, larger multi-disc collection.
The main menu contains a list of episodes and audio options. That's it.
Not a single other option. The transfers for these episodes are pretty
standard, not amazing but not terrible. In fact, these transfers look
slightly inferior to the episode transfers featured on the mutli-disc
Batman: The Animated Series volume release.
If you want to chuck away about $5 - 10 dollars on four random episodes,
then feel free. These are clearly impulse purchases DVDs. Unless you're
an obsessive completist and must have these episodes (why?), skip this
DVD release and head right for the larger volume disc DVD sets. |
