Justice League Surprises!
By Jim Harvey
11-21-2001

When it comes to a show like Justice League, you can almost assure non stop surprises. But are surprises more effective when you go in 'blind' to an episode? One of most requests that the staff behind Justice League gets is spoilers on upcoming episodes, but they are currently trying to do what they can to keep spoilers to a bare minimum so fans won't know what to expect from one show to the next.

"A lot of the enjoyment of a TV show depends on surprises," said show writer Stan Berkowitz. "And I don't want to ruin any of the many surprises that you're going to be seeing on Justice League. I can, however, tell you that one of nicest things for me about working on the show is that all the stories are so different from each other. Week in, week out, the artists create whole new worlds, alien and otherwise; we do war stories, love stories, mysteries, courtroom dramas and even comedies. Some of the characters will be familiar to viewers of our previous series, but others will only be familiar to comics readers."

Rumors have been circulating recently about plots of upcoming episodes due to hints from various character interviews, episode titles, and even from a simple thing like a character appearance list.

"Just Monday, we were recording a show, and a question came up as to the accent that a certain guest star would have," recollects Berkowitz." The character he was playing had been around DC comics since 1941, but had only appeared on screen once, in a now-lost 1940's serial, so there was some uncertainty. All I can really tell you is that you're never going to know who'll be popping up on Justice League... or where our stories will take you."

"Why don't you just sit back, relax, and let us entertain you as we've been doing for the last nine or ten years? I think our track record here has been enough to earn anyone's trust." concluded Berkowitz.

With that said, do not expect much in the way of episode spoilers as the creative team behind the show have been making sure that little to no information slips out. Doing this will no doubt make expectations higher for each coming episode.
