In his reality, one of the many at risk during the "Spider-Wars," Ben Reily believed himself to be a clone of Peter Parker, and did what he could to start his own life. Changing his name to Ben Reily, he decided he still wanted to help the innocent and took on the persona of The Scarlet Spider.

While partnering with Spider-Man to take down The Kingpin of his dimension, the Carnage symbiote appeared through a portal with the sole purpose of infecting Peter Parker to create Spider-Carnage. The Scarlet Spider would eventually team up with the Spider-Men from across the multiverse to defeat Spider-Carnage and save all of reality. The Scarlet Spider was eventually returned to his own dimension so he could continue to pursue his own path.
