The Prowler
Real Name: Hobie Brown

Hobie Brown was obsessed with power and all that it could bring him. A small-time hood working for a man known only as Ice, he began stealing from Ice, convinced he wasn't earning his fair share. When Ice learned of the deception, he attempted to have Hobie killed, but Hobie fled. Shortly afterwards, he was apprehended by Spider-Man after trying to steal MJ's purse and was sent to prison for violating his parole.

While incarceated, Hobie saved Richard Fisk's life, eventually resulting in him being freed by The Kingpin and given a battle suit. Naming himself The Prowler, he took over Ice's organization, but was quickly brought under the Kingpin's heel when he learned the suit (intentionally) needed Kingpin's help to keep running. Coming to Peter Parker for help, Prowler and Spider-Man attacked The Kingpin's base and recharged the suit, and were eventually able to free him from under Kingpin's grasp. Hobie left soon afterwards to give up crime and get back with his girlfriend.
