Green Lantern: First Flight Teletoon, Friday, February 5th, 2010 at 10:00pm (ET) When pilot Hal Jordan accepts a mysterious, powerful ring from a dying alien creature, it transforms him into a Green Lantern, one of an elite force of heroes who patrol the universe to ensure peace and justice under the leadership of the Guanrdians of the Universe. Unsure of their newest recruit, the Guardians assign Hal to their most-honored Green Lantern Sinestro for training., unaware that Sinestro wants to overthrow the Guardians and create a new order he’ll control. It’s a battle of might and willpower as Hal must prove his worth by defeating Sinestro and saving the Green Lantern Corp.
Teletoon also recently featured the Canadian network debut of Wonder Woman, the direct-to-video DC Universe Animated Original Movie title, in late 2009 on the “Teletoon at Night” programming block. The network is expected to revisit that animated feature later this year. Like the Green Lantern: First Flight animated feature, Wonder Woman made its debut on home video in 2009.

Matt Waynes entire four-issue run on the Batman: The Brave and The Bold comic series, based on the popular Cartoon Network animated series of the same name and published by DC Comics, is collected in this weeks new Batman: The Brave and The Bold trade paperback collection. The collection includes the first six issues of the acclaimed spin-off comic, the first four issues Wayne penned. Wayne enjoyed his short stint on the comic series, and says he was very lucky to have the chance to work on the project.
“Rachel Gluckstern hired me and Andy Suriano to take Batman on a wild ride every month, says Wayne. One that came as close as possible to the crazy action of the animated Batman: The Brave and The Bold and I think we succeeded.
Wayne took great joy writing this rendition of the Batman, citing this version as one he loves to write.
He’s not grim and obsessive, maybe a little around the edges, but mostly he’s super-capable< Wayne adds. The perfect foil for DC's more colorful heroes and villains.
Getting to work with Andy Suriano was a rare treat to work with, adds Wayne, stating that he and Suriano were of similar minds when approaching this series. That was obvious after seeing the pencils for the first issue of the Batman: The Brave and The Bold comic series.
We’re talking about doing a specific project together now, but a monthly comic was just too much. Wayne adds. Still, I love looking at this stuff.
Looking back at his run on Batman: The Brave and The Bold, Wayne says hell take fond memories from his acclaimed stint on the series. He is succeeded on this title by writers J. Torres and Landry Walker, among the occasional guest writer.
The DC Universe can be so much fun, continues Wayne. And I finally realized one of my lifelong ambitions, to write Sugar and Spike in a comic!”

Warner Home Video Releases New Details, Images From “The Spectre” Animated Short

New images and the following press details on the upcoming The Spectre animated short, the initial entry in the all-new “DC Showcase” series of animation shorts, available below, are provided by Warner Home Video and Warner Bros. From the creative forces behind the PG-13 “DC Universe Animated Original Movie” line, “DC Showcase” puts the spotlight on favorite characters from throughout the annals of DC Comics in fascinating, short-form tales sure to entertain longtime and new fans alike.
The Spectre focuses on a detective story with an ethereal twist, featuring the otherworldly character originally introduced by DC Comics in 1940. The short is written by Steve Niles (30 Days of Night) and directed by Joaquim Dos Santos (G.I Joe: Resolute). The voice cast is led by Gary Cole (Entourage) as the title character and Alyssa Milano (Charmed) as Aimee Brenner.
The Spectre will be distributed February 23 by Warner Home Video as part of the Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths Blu-ray/DVD.
“DC Showcase” is a co-production from Warner Premiere, Warner Bros. Animation, Warner Home Video and DC Comics. Bruce Timm is Executive Producer. Future “DC Showcase” titles include Jonah Hex (written by Joe Lansdale).

Wayne Discusses New “Batman: The Brave And The Bold” Comic Collection, Now On Sale

Matt Waynes entire four-issue run on the Batman: The Brave and The Bold comic series, based on the popular Cartoon Network animated series of the same name and published by DC Comics, is collected in this weeks new Batman: The Brave and The Bold trade paperback collection. The collection includes the first six issues of the acclaimed spin-off comic, the first four issues Wayne penned. Wayne enjoyed his short stint on the comic series, and says he was very lucky to have the chance to work on the project.
Wayne took great joy writing this rendition of the Batman, citing this version as one he loves to write.
He’s not grim and obsessive, maybe a little around the edges, but mostly he’s super-capable< Wayne adds. The perfect foil for DC's more colorful heroes and villains. Getting to work with Andy Suriano was a rare treat to work with, adds Wayne, stating that he and Suriano were of similar minds when approaching this series. That was obvious after seeing the pencils for the first issue of the Batman: The Brave and The Bold comic series.
We’re talking about doing a specific project together now, but a monthly comic was just too much. Wayne adds. Still, I love looking at this stuff.
Looking back at his run on Batman: The Brave and The Bold, Wayne says hell take fond memories from his acclaimed stint on the series. He is succeeded on this title by writers J. Torres and Landry Walker, among the occasional guest writer.
The DC Universe can be so much fun, continues Wayne. And I finally realized one of my lifelong ambitions, to write Sugar and Spike in a comic!”
