While an official announcement is still forthcoming, a representative for La-La Land Records has confirmed the CD soundtrack release for the acclaimed Wonder Woman direct-to-video animated feature is slated to arrive in the coming months. The soundtrack is expected to be made available for purchase through the official La-La Land Records website and online soundtrack specialty sites. The soundtrack, originally due for release in February 2010, will now see release during either March or April 2010. No reasons were cited for the delays, but the representative assures the Wonder Woman soundtrack CD release will be available soon. A downloadable version of the soundtrack, released by WaterTower Music (formally New Line Records) to iTunes, will be made available around the same time as the Limited Edition Wonder Woman soundtrack CD release.
La-La Land Records recently released the score to the 2009 direct-to-video DC Universe Animated Original Movie title Green Lantern: First Flight as a Limited Edition CD release. With WaterTower Music, a division of Time Warner, now releasing both compact disc and legal downloads of music scores from selected Warner Bros. Animation projects, representatives for La-La Land Records cannot currently confirm if the label will be releasing more CD titles for the studio.
La-La Land Records recently issued CD soundtrack releases for Batman: The Animated Series, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, the aforementioned Green Lantern: First Flight, among many other titles. The World’s Finest originally broke the news on the forthcoming Wonder Woman soundtrack release last year.
More details on the Limited Edition Wonder Woman soundtrack CD release from La-La Land Records, including cover art and track listing information, will be unveiled over the coming weeks. Details on the iTunes downloadable version are also expected. Stay tuned for further updates here soon at The World’s Finest.

The World’s Finest presents the latest in a series of studio-conducted interviews, provided by Warner Home Video, for the upcoming Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths direct-to-video animated feature. Continue reading below for the latest installment featuring actor Bruce Davison.
VETERAN ACTOR BRUCE DAVISON MAKES ANIMATION VOICEOVER DEBUT IN JUSTICE LEAGUE: CRISIS ON TWO EARTHS
Bruce Davison is no stranger to political office at least in a fictional situation. Hes played an ambassador, senator, congressman and judge, but Davison steps up in class in his first voiceover for animation as President Wilson in Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths, an all-new DC Universe Animated Original PG-13 Movie coming February 23, 2010 from Warner Premiere, DC Comics and Warner Bros. Animation.
In Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths, a good Lex Luthor arrives from an alternate universe to recruit the Justice League to help save his Earth from the Crime Syndicate, a gang of villainous characters with virtually identical super powers to the Justice League. What ensues is the ultimate battle of good versus evil in a war that threatens both planets and puts the balance of all existence in peril. Davisons President Wilson is caught in the middle of the battle, attempting to find a balance between leading the human citizens of the parallel Earth and not being crushed by the powerful Crime Syndicate.
Davisons credits stretch through film and television to the tune of 160 different movies and series roles, catching the worlds attention in 1971 as the title character in the benchmark rat-attack thriller Willard. He has since been a regular on primetime series, covering the gamut from The Waltons, Murder She Wrote and thirtysomething to Seinfeld, Lost, Close to Home and Knight Rider. Davisons film career has featured memorable and critically acclaimed roles in X-Men and X2, Six Degrees of Separation, Short Cuts, Grace of My Heart and Longtime Companion, the latter performance garnering an Academy Award nomination, a Golden Globe Award, an Independent Spirit Award, and top honors from the National Society of Film Critics and the New York Film Critics Circle. Though he has recorded numerous books-on-tape, Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths represents Davisons first foray into the animated world.
Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths is an original story from award-winning animation/comics writer Dwayne McDuffie (Justice League). Bruce Timm (Superman Doomsday) is executive producer, and Lauren Montgomery (Wonder Woman, Green Lantern: First Flight) and Sam Liu (Superman/Batman: Public Enemies) are co-directors. The full-length animated film will be distributed by Warner Home Video as a Special Edition 2-disc version on DVD and Blu-Ray Hi-Def, as well as single disc DVD, and On Demand and Download.
During his recording session, Davison had a few minutes to discuss his inaugural animated role, his personal history with super heroes, an early adoration for EC Comics, and his ascent up the fictional political ladder. Well let his words take it from here
QUESTION: Whats it like being one of two characters without super powers in an all-super hero movie?
BRUCE DAVISON: Well, its par for the course. In X-Men, I played Senator Kelly and, as my son likes to say, I didnt really have any powers I just melted. Its tough when your action figure can’t stand up. I had to stick it in a glass of water because it didn’t have any feet, just this sort of drippy stuff off the bottom (he laughs). So I’m used to not having any real strength powers. But President Wilson is a pretty macho guy, which is great.
QUESTION: And youve got a nice progression here. Marvel makes you a senator, DC makes you President …
BRUCE DAVISON: Yes, I AM the President (he laughs). And I actually have feet in this one, plus an eye-patch. So Im definitely moving up in the super hero world.
QUESTION:How did you enjoy your maiden voyage into animation voiceovers?
BRUCE DAVISON: I’ve done books-on-tape, including a Stephen King book and a few other things. But it’s really interesting to be a character that will then be created as opposed to trying to fit in. I’ve spent a lifetime voicing over (looping) myself in films over the years. But it’s a lot easier to just create something and then let the animators put it together. Oh, and it’s just a blast doing the recording it’s like being six years old again.
QUESTION: Were you picturing the character in your head while recording, or just focusing on conveying certain emotions?
BRUCE DAVISON: Well, I always try to look at my characters as being better than I am. That’s one of the reasons I guess I became an actor because you get to create a persona that’s bigger or better or more interesting than your own. I sort of found President Wilson to be like Dale Dye, the guy that does all the military shows on History Channel. The guy who gets in the trenches. He’s been there, done that. So, I’d better shape up.
QUESTION: Did super heroes play a role in your youth?
BRUCE DAVISON: I hate to date myself, but my earliest memories are Flash Gordon. I would love playing Flash Gordon in the neighborhood. We lived outside of Philadelphia in Drexel Hill, and I would be Flash Gordon and my friend was Dr. Zarkov and we’d get beat up by the Catholic kids, who were the clay people, on the way home from school. And then we’d have auditions for Dale Arden. So that was sort of my childhood fantasy.
QUESTION: Do you remember any first experiences with Superman or Batman?
BRUCE DAVISON: Oh, yeah George Reeves working with Truth, Justice, and the American Way you know, in the ’50s when there were just three channels on the TV, and you watched the Indian on the Test Pattern until nine when things started coming on.
I did have a cape and I did jump off my stairs and survived (laugh). I really loved running around the hill, trying to do the whole Truth, Justice and the American Way thing (hums the theme song). Id try to take off just like he did, and end up sliding on my face down the hill. But that was always off camera for me and I figured they didn’t see that part, just the great take off (laughs).
QUESTION: How did comic books influence your upbringing?
BRUCE DAVISON: I was a major EC Comic freak. I just loved them all. Tales Of The Crypt, Weird Science all of the older stuff. I just really loved the artwork Wally Wood and all of those great artists. But they scared the bejesus out of me as a kid. I remember one very vivid comic in which a baseball player would spike people, sliding into everybody, so they cut him all up and played baseball with his head and used his legs as the bats. I think they used his trunk as home plate. That really scared me (he laughs). It was a really interesting time. They used to run articles in the comics about how people in Congress were trying to make it a Commie plot to ban EC. I found that really interesting that was really the dawning of my first understanding of politics and censorship.
QUESTION: Why are superheroes important for us?
BRUCE DAVISON: I think it gives us a sense of idealism and strength that we don’t have but we wish we did. Its like, why do we create religion? Because we need super heroes to take care of us, to live up to.
QUESTION: You’ve done so many different things. What do people most often recognize you for?
BRUCE DAVISON: Well, if they’re my age, probably Willard, because that was an impressionable movie when you’re young. The younger people know me from X-Men. And then if you’re 12, its Knight Rider. Its as though every few years something comes along and then I’m sort of remembered for that. But people don’t really know that I can do anything else until the next time.
QUESTION: Did you learn anything from your first animation voiceover experience?
BRUCE DAVISON: I learned it’s a lot of fun. It really is. And you just have to sort of wing it with the other actors. You do have to work within the iambic pentameter of the technical world of the medium. You can’t pop things and you can’t get too close to the microphone and you can’t get too breathy. You really have to sort of create a character vocally within a framework of technology. So you can’t step out of it in order to do something that maybe you would do as an actor on film or on stage. When you’re on stage, even a whisper, you have to reach very far away. In film, you can be much more intimate. But just using your voice, you have to create something that’s somewhere in the middle so that it paints a picture and yet it’s not intimate enough to get lost.

Debuting three new titles this year, the DC Universe Animated Original Movie direct-to-video animated feature line from Warner Home Video moved nearly one million DVD units in 2009. Over 900,000 of those units came from the three new DC Universe Animated Original Movie titles that debuted this year – Wonder Woman, Green Lantern: First Flight and Superman/Batman: Public Enemies – and those numbers are expected to grow during the December 2009 holiday season.
Among the three new DC Universe Animated Original Movie titles, the September 2009 Superman/Batman: Public Enemies animated feature made the biggest splash of this years releases, moving an estimated 342,000 DVD units since hitting shelves. Home video retail outlets are expecting the title to finish with at least a total 350,000 of units sold by the end of 2009. The direct-to-video Superman/Batman: Public Enemies animated feature debuted to an estimated 198,000 DVD copies sold in its first week of sales, during the week ending October 4th, 2009.
The second DC Universe Animated Original Movie title released this year, released during the summer sales season, the direct-to-video Green Lantern: First Flight animated feature has sold an estimated 286,000 copies since its mid-year debut. The direct-to-video Green Lantern: First Flight animated feature debuted to an estimated 160,000 DVD copies sold in its first week of sales, during the week ending August 2nd, 2009. The Annie Award nominated feature is expected to finish 2009 with at least a total of 295,000 DVD units moved according to home video retail outlets.
Lastly, the first 2009 release under the DC Universe Animated Original Movie banner, Wonder Woman has moved an estimated 292,000 DVD copies since premiering during the first quarter of the year. The release has boasted consistently stable sales throughout the year despite having the lowest debut week of all the DC Universe Animated Original Movie titles to date. Wonder Woman debuted with 107,000 in DVD sales in its first week, the week ending March 8th, 2009, though sales quickly leveled off after the standard second week plunge. The critically-acclaimed direct-to-video animated feature is also expected to finish out 2009 with a projected estimate of 295,000 DVDs unit sold according to home video retail outlets.
Please note the above sales numbers do not take into account rental numbers, OnDemand numbers, legal download numbers, or high-definition release sales.
Additionally, though not under the DC Universe Animated Original Movie line, Warner Home Video and Warner Premiere also debuted the direct-to-video animated tie-in feature Watchmen: Tales of the Black Freighter, tying into the live-action Watchmen Spring 2009 theatrical release. While the home video premiere title stumbled out of the gate with 42,000 in DVD sales for its first week, the week of March 29th, 2009, the title has since moved an estimated 198,000 copies since its debut, and will likely top out with a respectable 200,000 DVD units moved by the end of 2009.

The World’s Finest caught up with famed comic and television writer Jeph Loeb for a quick Q & A to share his thoughts on the recent direct-to-video Superman/Batman: Public Enemies animated feature released under the DC Universe Animated Original Movie banner by Warner Home Video. The Superman/Batman: Public Enemies animated feature arrived on home video in September 2009. The animated feature adapted the six-issue story arc of the same name, originally written by Loeb, from the Superman/Batman comic series currently published by DC Comics. The story features Superman and Batman facing off against Lex Luthor, now President of the United States.
The Worlds Finest: First up, what are your thoughts on the finished product?
Jeph Loeb: I thought it was great. Any time we can get our stories out there beyond comics is awesome.
WF: What did you think of the changes made, such as the new explanation for the bounty on Superman’s head, or the altered ending (I.E., no more “There will be a crisis..”), etc? Any alterations you disagree with?
JL: I think it helps that I work in television and film already. I understand the challenges of making a story accessible to an audience that isn’t reading comics. Things like “There will be a crisis” is super cool for the comic book reader, but how would that translate to everyone else. So it was all good.
WF: What about the art-style? Did you find it faithful, and that it translated the visuals successfully?
JL: Its always a challenge to take something that is 2-D and animate it. Both Ed [McGuinness] and I were thrilled with the end vision.
WF: Based on the impressive debut for the title, Warner Home Video has greenlit a second Superman/Batman movie. Which other story Superman/Batman story that you penned would you like to see adapted. Why?
JL: I hear rumors that they are doing Superman/Batman: Supergirl which introduces Supergirl to the DCU. It has a great cast, including Wonder Woman and and the villain Darkseid, and as written, a true origin story for Supergirl. All that and Michael Turner’s astonishing artwork. Go for it!
WF: Do you have any last thoughts on the title? Good? Bad? Do you hope you’ll see more of your work animated?
JL: I’d love to see more of it and if I have the time, be able to do the adaptation myself!
WF: To wrap up, what projects do you have on your plate right now?
JL: I’m about to begin this giant epic adventure over in Hulk revealing all the secrets of the Red Hulk starting in January. In February, a new project called Ultimate X with beautiful illustrations by Arthur Adams. And in March, I’ve got New Ultimates coming out with extraordinary artwork by Frank Cho. I’m very proud of what’s to come in 2010!
The World’s Finest would like to thank Jeph Loeb for his participation!
A co-production of Warner Premiere, DC Comics and Warner Bros. Animation, Superman/Batman: Public Enemies is now available to own on DVD and Blu-ray disc. Actor Bruce Davison Discusses “Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths” Animated Feature
Blu-ray/DVD/Digital, DC Universe Animated Original Movie, Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths
The World’s Finest presents the latest in a series of studio-conducted interviews, provided by Warner Home Video, for the upcoming Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths direct-to-video animated feature. Continue reading below for the latest installment featuring actor Bruce Davison.
IN JUSTICE LEAGUE: CRISIS ON TWO EARTHS

Year-End 2009 Sales For “DC Universe Animated Original Movie” Animated Feature Titles
Blu-ray/DVD/Digital, DC Animated Movie, DC Universe Animated Original Movie, Green Lantern: First Flight, Sales, Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, Watchmen: Tales of the Black Freighter, Wonder Woman
A co-production of Warner Premiere, DC Comics and Warner Bros. Animation, the DC Universe Animated Original Movie line is expected to release between two three new direct-to-video animated features in 2010, with the next title, Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths, set to debut February 23rd, 2010 on DVD and Blu-ray disc. Loeb Discusses Recent “Superman/Batman: Public Enemies” Animated Feature Release
Blu-ray/DVD/Digital, DC Universe Animated Original Movie, Interviews, Superman/Batman: Public Enemies
The next title under the DC Universe Animated Original Movie banner, the direct-to-video Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths animated feature, debuts February 23rd, 2010 on DVD and Blu-ray disc.
