The animated feature is scheduled to air October 4th, 2008 at 8pm (ET). Below is the official synopsis for the feature.
Justice League: The New Frontier Saturday, October 4th, 2008, at 8pm (ET) Inspired by the best-selling graphic novel by Darwyn Cooke and produced by the multiple Emmy award winning animation legend, Bruce Timm, Justice League: The New Frontier is the epic tale of the founding of the Justice League. Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman are all here of course, and so are Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter and Flash – whose incredible origins will be told for the very first time. Strangers at first, these very different heroes must overcome fear and suspicion to forge an alliance against a monster so formidable, even the mighty Superman can not stop it. If they fail, our entire planet will be “cleansed” of humanity.
The all-ages “Johnny DC” titles, which include comic book spin-offs based on many of the animated DC cartoons, will see a twenty-five cent increase from $2.25 US/CAN to $2.50 US/CAN. The new prices will take effect in December 2008.
This price increase will affect all “Johnny DC” titles, including the comic based on the upcoming animated series Batman: The Brave and The Bold, scheduled to premiere in January 2009. The title, originally speculated for a November 2008 launch, is expected to be part of the “Johnny DC” line. The World’s Finest has confirmed the new January 2009 launch date for the upcoming Batman: The Brave and The Bold comic series. Stay tuned for confirmation on the title’s status and information on the creative team in the near future.
