A total of 78 half-hour episodes were produced for Gargoyles. The first two seasons aired in the syndicated Disney Afternoon programming block, running for 65 episodes in total. The controversial third and final season aired on Disney's One Saturday Morning block on ABC as Gargoyles: The Goliath Chronicles. Except for the first episode of the season, "The Journey," these third season episodes were produced without the involvement of series creator Greg Weisman and are not considered canon to the Gargoyles mythos.
