Warner Bros. Home Entertainment announced during New York Comic-Con 2017 that Batman: The Animated Series is being remastered for Blu-ray, and will be released on the format in 2018. A specific street date was not provided, but the studio states the release will hit in the fourth quarter of the calendar year. The studio made the announcement during a special panel celebrating the 25th anniversary of Batman: The Animated Series.
There is currently no confirmation on whether the Blu-ray release will be done via individual volumes, similar to the DVD releases of Batman: The Animated Series, or as a complete series collection. Details are expected to roll out in early 2018. The collection will be readily available for release via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment through digital and retail outlets.
Warner Archive recently released Batman: Mask of the Phantasm on Blu-ray, and is currently looking into possibly releasing the acclaimed direct-to-video animated feature Batman & Mr. Freeze: Sub-Zero in the future. Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman is already available on Blu-ray. Warner Archive’s release of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm has been a high consistent seller since it was released earlier this year.
