Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment released a clip from “Kevin Conroy: I Am The Knight,” a special featurette dedicated to the late actor, to promote the 4K digital and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. Both 4K editions, which include the featurette as a bonus feature, are now available to own. Conroy, widely considered the voice of Batman, passed away in 2022. Watch the Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment clip, along with a second Batman: Mask of the Phantasm clip recently released by DC Comics, in the players below.
Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment also released an additional Batman: Mask of the Phantasm clip to promote the movie’s 4K digital and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray editions. Watch it in the player below.
An abbreviated description of the Batman: Mask of the Phantasm 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release follows, provided by Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment:
Rooted in DC’s acclaimed Batman: The Animated Series and released theatrically on Christmas Day 1993, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm has not only been ranked by Time magazine as one of the 10 best Super Hero movies ever, but is also arguably the core fans’ all-time favorite Batman film.
The 4K HDR/SDR remaster of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm was sourced from the 1993 Original Cut Camera Negative and was scanned at 4K resolution. Digital restoration was applied to the 4K scans to remove dirt, scratches and additional anomalies, but special care was given to not touch the film grain or the animation cel dirt that was part of the original artwork. This is the first time since its theatrical release that it is presented in its 1.85 aspect ratio. The original 2.0 mix and the 5.1 tracks were remastered to remove or improve defects such as pops, ticks, dropouts and distortion.
The release will also include an all-new featurette “Kevin Conroy: I Am The Knight,” which takes a look at the legacy of Kevin Conroy, who voiced Batman for 30 years in film, television, video games and more.
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm is available now on 4K digital and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray from Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. Click here to read The World’s Finest review of the Batman: Mask of the Phantasm 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release!
The World’s Finest has published its review of Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment’s Batman: Mask Of the Phantasm 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray release, which is now available to own. In short, the studio has put together a nice and tidy 4K title for Batman: Mask of the Phantasm that manages to excel despite a couple unfortunate shortcomings. To read the complete review, click on the image below.
Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment describes Batman: Mask of the Phantasm as follows:
The Dark Knight must save Gotham City from a new threat in the critically acclaimed 1993 Warner Bros. major motion picture Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. When a woman from Bruce Wayne’s past, Andrea Beaumont, comes back into his life, Bruce questions whether he should continue protecting Gotham City as Batman. But his introspection is short-lived when the city’s most notorious crime bosses are killed, and the Caped Crusader is blamed for their murders. The Dark Knight sets out to clear his name, revealing a new masked vigilante: the Phantasm.
Based on the hit television show Batman: The Animated Series and featuring Warner Bros.’ first-ever use of computer-generated animation, this film noir-inspired original story continues the Batman legacy with a dark mystery involving the Phantasm and Batman’s infamous archrival, the Joker.
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm is available now on 4K digital and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray from Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. Additionally, The World’s Finest also recently reviewed The Batman Adventures Omnibus, Blue Beetle and The DC Book of Pride.
Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment has released an extended video preview for the upcoming 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. Based on acclaimed Batman: The Animated Series, the feature-length movie hits 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray on September 12, 2023. Continue below for the video plus additional details.

The movie has been rated at the top of the Dark Knight film franchise by such popular entertainment media as Empire, Screenrant and Paste. And in the ultimate mainstream salute for its time, Gene Siskel & Robert Ebert didn’t initially review the film during its theatrical release, but later dedicated a portion of their At The Movies weekly TV series to pay compliment to the film – and voice their regret for not giving it the attention it deserved during its original run – when Batman: Mask of the Phantasm was distributed for home entertainment.
