DC Universe Animated Features, DC Nation Programming, Animated “Green Lantern” Score 2012 Annie Award Nominations
The International Animated Film Society, ASIFA-Hollywood announced the nominations and award recipients for the 40th Annual Annie Awards earlier today, with some DC Comics-highlighted projects garnering nods. Assorted DC Comics-based animated projects Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part One, Justice League: Doom, Green Lantern: The Animated Series and a DC Nation short all nabbed nominations for the 40th Annual Annie Awards. The 2012 Annie Award winners will be announced at the Annie Awards ceremony on Saturday, February 2nd, 2013, at UCLAs Royce Hall, in Los Angeles, CA. Previous DC Universe Animated Original Movies, including Batman: Year One, have received Annie Award nominations. Additionally, this is the third Annie Award nomination for Green Lantern: The Animated Series, following 2011 nominations for Best General Audience Animated TV Production and Nominated Music In a Television Production – Frederik Wiedmann.
The Annie Awards honor overall excellence in the field of animation as well as individual achievement in nearly 30 different categories ranging from production design, character animation, and effects animation to storyboarding, writing, music and voice acting.
