Cartoon Network Pre-Empts DC Nation Programming Block For Remainder Of October 2012
According to scheduling details released by Cartoon Network, the DC Nation programming block will be pre-empted for the remainder of October 2012 starting today. New episodes of Young Justice and Green Lantern: The Animated Series, along with new animated short-form content, was originally scheduled to air during the DC Nation block this morning at 10:00am (ET/PT) on Cartoon Network, but was replaced at the last minute with other programming. The Fall 2012 season of the block – which included new episodes of Green Lantern: The Animated Series, Young Justice, and new animated shorts – started up back up just two weeks ago after a summer hiatus. Representatives for Cartoon Network have yet to return any inquiries.
The schedule changes were quietly revealed late last night – Friday, October 12th, 2012 – through a programming update on the official Cartoon Network website. Promotions advertising new DC Nation content slated to air this weekend released earlier in the week were also removed. Reaction to this sudden schedule change has been uniformly negative across various social media platforms.
Cartoon Network previously announced an entire month of new DC Nation programming for October 2012, with new content slated to run straight through to December 2012 before taking a winter hiatus and then returning again with new content come March 2013. This last-minute schedule change now throws the originally scheduled plans off-track. The DC Nation programming block will be replaced with back-to-back episodes of DreamWorks’ Dragons: Riders of Berk for the remainder of October. Please note schedule details are subject to change without notice, so stay tuned for any further possible changes.
DC Nation – including both Young Justice and Green Lantern: The Animated Series – remain off the Cartoon Network schedule for the time being, though could possibly turn up in an as-of-yet unannounced new timeslot. When the DC Nation block was originally announced in 2011, Cartoon Network confirmed a three-year commitment to the programming initiative.
Stay tuned for any updates at this right here at The World’s Finest.

WHAT THE HECK IS WITH THIS CRAZY RANDOM CHANGE AT THE LAST MINUTE?!?! Oh come on CN, is this is about the 20th anniversary thing, then there’s no reason to do this change since it’s not supposed to start until right after Young Justice. Not to mention the fact that there were still new episodes of Omniverse and Clone Wars right before DC Nation’s supposed to start. And Rider’s of Berk may be good at times, but not when it blocks my favorite show. We just got out of a hiatus 2 weeks ago, we DON’T NEED ANOTHER ONE!!! Especially when today’s episode was supposed to have a huge impact on the story!

This is so wrong. This replacement show may be great but since they replaced my two favorites with it, I erased it from my dvr without even watching it. It is SAD that Cartoon Network can mess up Saturday Morning cartoons so badly.

I saw this if CN wants to cancel the DC nation why not just not watch the channel period. DC nation is the only show I pay attention to on that channel (sometimes Ben and pokemon)

Guys, I really think we should take to Twitter and blow CN’s ear off with complaints. They should know that the fans don’t appreciate what they’re doing with these programs, even though they may or may not have a reasonable explanation. I’m pretty sure there are much more die-hard fans of the show than me and I’m quite distraught by this sudden news. Showing CN how perturbed we are will hopefully make them see that they have some solid franchises that they need to stop screwing around with. Moreover, Greg Weisman deserves a series that lasts longer than two damn seasons. He deserves better.

Seeing as how DC Nation is or rather WAS the only current reason to watch Cartoon Network they need to get their act together and get it back on the air a hell of a lot sooner than January. This is not cool.

Well lets see I watch on CN:
Star Wars
Ben 10
DC NATION
Thundercats (well I used to)
I do not understand why CW doesn’t air them instead of the Japanese programs. Think about what a TRUE DC Nation block would look like:
7:00am (central)
Krypto TAS
Batman TAS
8:00 am
Superman TAS
Static Shock
9:00am
Batman Beyond – Zeta Project TAS
Justice League – JLU
10:00am
Green Lantern TAS
Young Justice TAS
11:00am
Teen Titans Go (Teen Titans reruns during Go hiatus)
Beware the Batman
12:00pm
Smallville reruns
1:00pm
Arrow repeat

I swear CN has been going downhill since like 2005…what happened to original cartoons, like the PP Girls, courage the cowardly dog, KND, etc.? Me personally, I only watch young justice on DC Nation, but i feel like they should make it their first priority! So many people tune in for their shows and shorts on saturday mornings, and as far as YJ goes, we have been through like 3 hiatuses so far and we havent even finished the 2nd season! This is such crap I can’t even properly convey my feelings right now D:
