Mirror Master. You’d have to be pretty sharp to develop the technology to trap people in mirrors and created mirror image henchmen and Larroquette did not portray his character as a campy criminal. While it seems unlikely, I would welcome another Mirror
Master appearance. Also strong in the voice actor department was Charlie Schlatter as the hyperactive, fast-moving, fast-talking, fast eating Flash. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen the Superman: The Animated Series episode "Speed Demons" where Schlatter first voiced the Scarlet
Speedster, but I really enjoyed this take on The Flash. Maybe it’s the kid in me enjoying some harmless fun, but it just make sense (at least in a ‘TVY7’ sense) for the fast hero to do everything fast. This is the second episode this season that has used the evil female accomplice and for the second time it is done very effectively.
Mirror Master obviously needs to have someone to talk and Smoke fits that bill nicely. Not only is her name clever for those who take a minute to think about it (go ahead, I’ll wait), but she wasn’t afraid to mix it up when Batman and Flash arrived. While Flash certainly knew what he was doing, he also didn’t seem to have as much experience as Superman or Green Arrow as Batman sometimes seemed worried about losing track of him. Of course The
Batman following Flash’s example and doing something quick and impulsive is ultimately what saved them. |
