Bios – Themiscrya

First Appearance: "Secret Origins"
Position: Island of the Amazons

Bio: Themiscrya is Princess Diana's home. She grew up there with her hundreds of Amazon sisters–but unlike her sisters, she was the descendant of the Queen of the Island–Hippolyta. While Hippolyta wanted to stay behind when aliens invaded Earth, Diana left to help the men.
She has since stayed with them when the Justice League was formed.

Aside from concealing a gate to Hell that has sealed in Lord Hades for centuries, Themiscrya is a peaceful island that has only been attacked once since Diana's departure. It was then that Faust came to the island looking for pieces to the previously mentioned gate to Hell. Wonder
Woman aided Faust only because he had turned all the Amazons, including
Hippolyta, into stone. Having no choice, she collected the pieces for him and returned. The Justice League helped out and was able to re-seal
Hades back into his imprisonment, keeping the world safe.

Only two Amazons have been cast out from Themiscrya–the first being
Diana for bringing men to the island, breaking their most sacred rule.
The other was Aresia, who snuck out of the island during one of her many trials on the island and attempted to rid the world of its male population.
