Review

A new female superhero enters Dakota and works Static's last nerve.

While on patrol Static and Gear meet a new hero called She-Bang. Static is cold to her being kind of arrogant but Richie thinks she could make a good partner. Meanwhile She-Bang's alter ego Shenice goes to Dakota High now and Virgil is surprised to see her parents try to stop her from bowling a perfect game at the alley. Shenice's parents find out she is She-Bang and tell her she has to stop. She-Bang goes out for some air and tells Static that he doesn't have to worry about her anymore when some secret agents kidnap her and Virgil sees she's Shenice.

Static and Gear go to Shenice's parents house where they explain that Shenice was a medical experiment conducted by the government to create a superkid but her parents felt she was their daughter and ran away with her. They are now on the run with Shenice. After a tussle with some agents Gear uses Backpack to locate where they took She-Bang--on an airplane. Static arrives and frees She-Bang. Shenice tells Static and Gear that the FBI are taking her and her parents to a safe house and if the coast is ever clear she will rejoin them which Static thinks is a good idea.

I never liked She-Bang. I always found her voice kind of annoying and I thought she was as overbearing as Static accused her of. Still, this episode was decent and she isn't as bad here as she is in her later appearances.

The best part of the episode for me was when Hotstreak went on a rampage after seeing a Star Wars stand-in movie. I laughed at Static's assertion that Hotstreak couldn't destroy property just because he wasn't "feeling a movie" and Hotstreak's outraged reply "HAVE YOU SEEN IT?" Methinks the writers didn't care too much for Episode I.

The animation here was okay but I think the most notable thing about the episode was the music. I liked She-Bang's theme for some reason even though it became overplayed as the episode went on. A decent introduction but again, I never really cared for She-Bang.
