Review

Madelyn Spalding returns to lead the Meta-Breed but this time has to contend with She-Bang.

Madelyn Spalding (Attack of the Living Brain Puppets) is out of the hospital and working at a comic book shop when she realizes she has the new ability of moving things telepathically and becoming a force of nature. She uses her new power to break Ebon, Hotstreak and Talon out of jail and declares herself the new leader of the Meta-Breed. Meanwhile She-Bang has returned to Dakota after all of the government agents that were after her were captured. She is even more overbearing and pushy than before and Static and Gear find her a hindrance rather than a help after the Meta-Breed escape. She is equally annoying at school and Static and Gear tell her to back off.

Later, She-Bang is capture b y Madelyn and company to lure Static there. She-Bang manages to manipulate a disgruntled Ebon into trying to take charge of the Meta-Breed again. Madelyn and he fight after which Madelyn incapacitates him. Static and Gear who were searching for Shenice because she was missing arrive and take down Madelyn and Talon and Hotstreak. Madelyn and the Breed go back to jail and She-Bang and Static apologize to each other. He promises she can work with the team and she promises not to be so pushy.

Wow. This was a pretty good episode. Despite "Attack of the Living Brain Puppets" being such a stupid episode I always liked Madelyn because her aspirations and goals are so ridiculous. I have to say I really like her new powers and costume and am sad that this is the last time we'll be seeing her.

Not so sad about this being the last appearance of She-Bang. I find her just as grating as Virgil does. I DID like her making fun of Ebon. He's such a great villain because he is all about the control and the idea of him taking orders from someone else was obviously very tough for him. HE has to be the one in charge and I liked how that led to his downfall.

The animation here was nice and again, I really liked Madelyn's redesign. It was also fun to "flash back" to Attack of the Living Brain Puppets and see new animation of the same situations (including Static' old costume). This episode had a lot of different things going for it and I liked it a lot.
