Review

While working with Dr Anoyki (Static in Africa) Virgil and Sharon are surprised when after showing them some beautiful artifacts he shoos them away. A snake man and a giant bug man attack him. Virgil goes back and meets Anansi the Spider who say the bug and the snake are working for Osebo the Leopard in trying to find an artifact called the Golden Spider. Sharon realizes that Dr. Anoyki slipped her the Spider and realizes that she can create things with it.

Meanwhile Anansi tells Static the story of the Golden Spider and reveals that it is the secret behind his powers. Sharon later goes to Richie's house to ask him to look up information about the Spider when Osebo attacks Richie house and kidnaps Sharon. Sharon tries to stop Osebo who reveals that the Spider only creates illusions not reality. Anansi and Static locate Sharon and fight Osebo. Anansi manages to get ahold of the Spider and he and Static defeat Osebo. Sharon is safe but Robert is angry with her for not doing her chores.

This was a pretty good episode even though it's not as great as Static in Africa. It was nice to see Anansi again and I really thought the snake guy and hornet guy were scary looking. I also found Gear's puzzlement on Osebo being a leopard and having stripes hilarious, especially when Anansi said he had always wondered about that himself.

This was a pretty good Sharon spotlight as well. I've always like Sharon and it's fun whenever she gets in the thick of things.

The animation in this episode extremely tight; I think I loved the effect of all of the hornet man (I forget his name) being able to turn into a bunch of little hornets and found it extremely creepy as I found The Snake Man with serpent mouths on his hands scary also. The story of Anansi was well animated too. I liked the episode and even though it wasn't quite on the level of Static in Africa I still enjoyed it immensely.
