Review

I find myself enjoying the Green Lanterns and their villains more and more with every appearance they make, and, despite the fact that Sinestro was the very first animated Green Lantern villain, he's made a scant few appearances since then. This marks Sinestro's fourth outing (First: STAS "In Brightest Day"; Second: JL "Secret Society"; Third: DD "Green Loontern" (that is, of course, if you want to be technical) and what an outing it was! Compared to the other crossovers in Static Shock's history, this is by far the best of them--it not only makes more sense than the others, but it also had the best animation, and, more importantly, plot. The others felt contrived, that they were there just so their guest stars would make some sort of sense. At least here, there was a reason for Green Lantern to be around--but one has to wonder why Sinestro chose Dakota to start it in...Metropolis would've made more sense, no?

And what would a review be without a summary of the episode itself? So here it is: Green Lantern robs some banks, Virgil gets ticked off that his idol has gone rogue, Static and Green Lantern (Sinestro) meet up, fight, and then Green Lantern (Sinestro) and Green Lantern (Stewart) meet, Green Lantern (Stewart) gets trapped, finds Static and Virgil later, drains his power ring, gets caught by the police for crimes he (Sinestro) committed, and is later freed by Static when he finds out that he's innocent and telling the truth, and then they go to kick some butt, Green Lantern style. That was probably the most condense version I can think of, but it pretty much gives you the jist of it.

There's not too much more to say about this episode, other than the fact we learn that Green Lanterns can change their appearance with their power rings, and that we got some really really cool interaction between Static and Green Lantern, both excellently voiced by Phil LaMarr. If you haven't already seen it, do yourself  a favor and check it out--whether via  a friends recorded copy or a future airing.
