Mini-Review: I wasn’t expecting the reveal that Halo is dying. The timing and delivery from Helga Jace could have been better, but whatever. I liked the bit about Jace’s old mentor, I wonder if this might all be a trap or something set for Halo. Though her reaction at the news was kind of predictable at this point. Just another secret she shares with Jace. I kind of also get they’re trying to show Violet still experiencing new things but I don’t really have any comment on her and Harper Row. A random thought, but how many voice actors or actresses can say 2 of the characters they voiced got to kiss each other in official canon.

Project Rutabaga was kind of disappointing (Project Cucumber sounded cooler). It’s nice they showed more of it and didn’t just leave it as a throw-away gag or something. But the whole thing seemed a little off to me, for whatever reasons. It does make some sense the Light wants to keep conducting experiments on meta-humans.

The Outsiders did pretty well in this mission. I like how popular the team is for now. I expect things will change for the worse soon enough, but it’s kind of funny to think they’re more popular than the Justice League. Ed Dorado wanting to join the team is also a nice development and I liked his reasoning for doing so. I liked seeing more of Zatanna in action. Her method of interfering without causing an international incident was cool. Same goes for her plan against Klarion, which was a nice surprise and also delivered a pretty hilarious end credits scene.

Interesting there were only a couple of brief mentions Joan Garrick died. It almost feels like there was one more episode they skipped from last week, also taking into account the time-stamps. I presume we’ll see more of Jay or other Flash-related plot points eventually.

I also found it kind of funny how they didn’t know the name of the water-breathing meta girl. Sine I am sure a lot of viewers (including myself) were expecting a named character from the DC Universe. I also tend to think she might be the 2nd Aquagirl from the comics, but I guess we’ll see. I wonder if she might be another potential love interest for Kaldur – hopefully this one will end better. I think my favorite scene in all of this, was the short sparring session between Artemis and Tara.

All in all, not the greatest episode of the show but there were some things I liked.
