| Review Maxine Gibson, a fellow student at Hamilton Hill High School, constructs a program designed to discover Batman’s secret identity. After she becomes the target of an offshoot of the Jokerz gang, she uses the program to decipher who exactly attacked her; her answer? Terry
McGuinness. This episode, weeks before it even came out, was being touted as the episode in which someone discovers Terry’s double-life. While I did find it somewhat of a disappointment (too much cheesy action, especially towards the end), there are still some points that I thought were well done: ? This episode depicts the oh, so important race to be valedictorian rather well; now if only they could do a homecoming king/queen episode… 🙂 ? It’s nice to see that there are various "chapters" of the Jokerz Gang.
The usual gang that we’ve seen to date (in episode like "Rebirth" and
"Joyride") are nowhere to be seen in this episode. There’s a really creepy Harley-ite in this clique, too. ? The opening sequence, where the Jokerz attack a man in an elevator with chattering teeth, was well done. I’m surprised that this sort of thing never happened on the original series, though. They managed to do this on "Darkwing Duck", so why not on "Batman"? ? I thought having Max think that Terry was a Jokerz member was a nice twist; I honestly didn’t see that one coming until the last minute. The episode ends with Terry, Dana, and Max in the computer lab; Max reveals to Terry that she knows his identity, and hints at the fact that she’d like to help him out in the future (as is expected). She then states that if he ever refers to her as Robin, she’s gonna kill him;
Terry states that she’ll just call him Alfred then. Alfred? So Terry knows something of what happened to him? In the future,
I hope we get to learn what happened to him, too. I also wonder if Dana overheard them… |
