Burchett on the New ‘Batman Adventures’

Burchett on the New ‘Batman Adventures” – by

Toon Zone was able to catch up with Terry Beatty, inker and occasional penciller on Batman: Gotham Adventures, to get his thoughts on the upcoming revamp of the animated Batman comic book. Batman: Gotham Adventures will end with issue #60
in March, and will be replaced with the revamped The Batman
Adventures.

"I will say I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with Scott Peterson,
Tim Levins, and Bob Smith on Batman: Gotham Adventures, and think we did some terrific work together," said Beatty. "But
I’m also looking forward to seeing what Ty Templeton and Dan
Slott – and the other artists we may be working with – bring to
The Batman Adventures re-launch. And though I have worked with
Ty before, he was strictly the writer, with another penciller,
Rick Burchett mostly involved (Ty inked his own cover pencils).
We’ve never worked together as a penciller/inker team – and I’m very much looking forward to the challenge and pleasure of inking him."

Although writers and pencillers come and go, Beatty has been a mainstay on the animated Batman comics. He’s been inking the comic adventures of the animated Batman since Batman & Robin
Adventures
.

"In October I started my seventh year inking the animated-style
Bat-books. I’m hoping to keep going with it as long as they’ll let me." concluded Beatty.
