The Hub Removes “Batman: The Animated Series,” Keeps “Superman: The Animated Series,” Returns “Batman Beyond”

The Hub network has announced a few changes to the channel’s daily schedule, including the removal of the classic Batman: The Animated Series from the weekday line-up. Starting Monday, December 2nd, 2013, the weekday 8:00am (ET) airings of Batman: The Animated Series will be replaced with repeats of Transformers Animated. The network has not confirmed at this time if this is a temporary or permanent removal of the series from the schedule. Batman: The Animated Series has been a part of the The Hub line-up since September 2011.

Additionally, Superman: The Animated Series will move to a new timeslot, now airing weekdays at 10:00am (ET). Batman Beyond is also returning to The Hub after a brief hiatus. The show will be paired with Superman: The Animated Series, airing weekdays at 9:30am (ET).

The network is expected to announce further possible schedule changes, with episode specific details, in the coming days.

The Hub launched on Sunday, October 10th, 2010, reaching approximately 60 million U.S. households.

Warner Home Video has announced the release date and initial details for the two-disc The Best of Warner Bros. – DC Comics Collection DVD release, a collection of 25 animated episodes starring assorted DC Comics characters. The two-disc set will hit shelves August 27th, 2013 for the MSRP of $26.99, and is part of the studio’s ongoing celebration of acknowledging its best properties. The two-disc set includes episodes from Batman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond, Superman: The Animated Series, Justice League, Young Justice, and more. “Man of Steel” Coming To Theatres June 14th, 2013

“Batman Beyond” Animated Series Returns January 2013 To The Hub Network

After a brief hiatus from the network, Batman Beyond is set to return to the The Hub network beginning January 7th, 2013. The series will join network mainstays Batman: The Animated Series and Superman: The Animated Series as part of the Monday – Friday weekday line-up, airing at 6:00pm (ET/PT). Batman Beyond was part of the network’s initial schedule launch back in October 2010. Batman Beyond follows the adventures of a new futuristic Batman in Gotham City roughly 40 years in the future. Animated Batman Shows Part Of The Hub “Summer Nights” Special Programming

Batman: The Animated Series and Batman Beyond will be part of The Hub Network’s special programming “Summer Nights” event, which starts Monday, July 30th, 2012 at 8:00pm (ET/PT). “Summer Nights” highlights the top-rated shows currently airing on the network. The two-week event will feature a two-hour block of select back-to-back episodes from an assortment of top shows currently airing on The Hub. The initiative kicks off with a two-hour block of back-to-back Batman: The Animated Series and Batman Beyond episodes. When Batman and Robin bust up an extortion, Batman learns the name of the gang leader. To Robin’s surprise, he refuses to let Robin continue the investigating with him, preferring to work alone instead. When Robin discovers the truth, he finds that the case is connected with Tony Zucco, a gangster who was responsible for the death of Robin’s parents.

Robin heads off in hot pursuit of Tony Zucco, despite Batman’s forbidding him to do it. Some tricky detective work takes him to the crook’s hideout at the old amusement pier where Zucco has accidentally trapped Batman.

“Summer Nights” have arrived on The Hub! For two weeks only, the hottest Hub shows that both kids and their parents love to watch will be presented in a two-hour block on weeknights starting Monday, July 30 at 8pm ET / 5 pm PT leading off with Batman: The Animated Series.
