“Beware The Batman” Joins Toonami Line-Up Starting Saturday, May 10th, 2014

A representative for Cartoon Network has confirmed that Beware The Batman will return as part of the weekly Toonami programming block starting May 2014. Toonami airs as part of the Adult Swim network, which shares the same channel and an assortment of co-productions with Cartoon Network. The CG-animated series is set to debut on the popular fan-favorite block on Saturday May 10th, 2014 at 3:00am (ET/PT). It will take the place of Ghost in the Shell on the schedule.

Beware The Batman was removed from Cartoon Network back in October 2013 after airing only eleven episodes, the reason for which still remains unexplained. The DC Nation block, which Beware The Batman anchored on weekend mornings, was also recently removed from the schedule.

According to a social media representative for Cartoon Network, all 26 episodes of Beware The Batman will be aired on Toonami. The show will retain its TV-PG rating.

The CG-animated series incorporates Batman’s core characters with a rogue gallery of new villains not previously seen in animated form. Along with backup from ex-secret agent Alfred and lethal swordstress Katana, the Dark Knight faces the twisted machinations of Gotham City’s criminal underworld. Beware The Batman stars Anthony Ruivivar (Banshee) as Batman/Bruce Wayne, JB Blanc (The Count of Monte Cristo) as Alfred, Sumalee Montano (ER) as Katana, and Kurtwood Smith (Robocop) as Lieutenant James Gordon.
