New “DC Universe Animated Original Movies” Titles To Be Announced Soon
The fifth title in the DC Universe Animated Original Movie line, expected to be released in early 2009, is slated to be announced in the fourth quarter of this year. The title will likely have a video preview on the DVD release for the Wonder Woman direct-to-video feature, which is expected to hit shelves toward the end of the year.
Production on the 2009 DC Universe Animated Original Movie releases are already well underway, with both DC Comics and Warner Home Video looking ahead at possible properties for the 2010 release. Grant Morrison, writer of Batman and All-Star Superman, said Warner Home Video has expressed interest in adapting his 12-issue run on All-Star Superman as a DC Universe Animated Original Movie title, but no commitment has been made on their part at this time.

New Artwork for Upcoming “The Batman,” “Teen Titans” DVD Releases

The Batman: The Complete Fifth Season DVD release will contain a featurette, called “Joining Forces: The Batman’s Legendary Team-Up,” containing a close look at the heroes who stopped by this season. Character profiles will also be included on the release. Teen Titans: The Complete Fifth Season will contain hero and villain profiles as the sole bonus features on that release.
Both titles will hit shelves July 22nd, 2008.

Green Lantern And Wonder Woman To Appear In “The Batman Strikes”
Green Lantern, last seen in the The Batman episode “Ring Toss,” will be appearing in issue #48, helping Batman battle the villainous Mr. Freeze. Wonder Woman is slated to appear later this year in the The Batman Strikes.

The Batman: Gotham Knight – Two-Disc Special Edition release and the Blu-Ray release of Batman: Gotham Knight will also contain the four following bonus Batman: The Animated Series episodes in standard definition:

Romano Voice Directing “Batman: The Brave and The Bold”
The World’s Finest has confirmed that Andrea Romano will be the voice director for the upcoming Batman: The Brave and The Bold animated series. Her impressive resume includes Batman: The Animated Series, Justice League: The New Frontier, Avatar: The Last Airbender, among a wide variety of other acclaimed animated series and features.
In related news, Will Wheaton will be providing the voice for an undisclosed character on Batman: The Brave and The Bold.

DC Direct To Release “Batman: Gotham Knight” Statue

Using the popular artist-inspired format of Batman: Black & White, this special edition statue is based on Segment 6, titled “Deadshot,” in the upcoming Batman: Gotham Knight direct-to-video animated feature.
This statue measures approximately 7″ tall X 5″ wide X 3.5″ deep. It will be packaged in a black-and-white box and will be a limited edition release of only 3,500 pieces. Painted in monochromatic tones, this statue is one of the latest additions to DC Direct’s popular line of Batman: Black & White statues.
The statue will be on sale July 9, 2008 with a price-tag of $75.00 US.

The Batman Strikes #47 will see Black Mask return to put Bruce Wayne in danger, while Arm-Fall-Off Boy tries to dazzle the Legion in Legion of Super Heroes In The 31st Century #16. The Batman Strikes #47 and Legion of Super Heroes In The 31st Century #16 will both hit shelves on July 9th, 2008.

The Disney-owned channel Jetix will run six Batman: The Animated Series episodes in a three hour block on Sunday, running from 6pm (ET) to 9pm (ET). The episodes featured in the mini-marathon are listed, as seen below.

“Batman: Gotham Knight” Premiere Slated For Wizard World Chicago, New Images

DC Comics, Warner Premiere, Warner Home Video and Warner Bros. Animation will present the World Premiere of the DC Universe Animated Original PG-13 Movie, Batman: Gotham Knight, at Wizard World Chicago on June 28, 2008
Scheduled for an evening presentation, the Batman: Gotham Knight premiere will be followed immediately by a panel featuring members of the film crew and cast, including legendary animation producer Bruce Timm (Superman Doomsday, Justice League: The New Frontier); acclaimed comics writer Brian Azzarello and Emmy Award-winning television writer Alan Burnett. Other filmmakers and voice talent are expected to participate.
Batman: Gotham Knight is a fresh and exciting new entry into the Batman mythos, spinning out of a 40-year history in animation including the Emmy-winning Batman: The Animated Series, widely considered a pivotal moment in American animation. A cross section of distinguished creators, award winning producers, and acclaimed writers weave six interlocking stories that reveal Bruce Wayne’s journey to The Dark Knight, each with stylish art from some of the world’s most revered animation visionaries.
