| Review Static plays for the cameras as a conniving TV producer sets Static up on his own reality show. After a night on patrol Static and Gear are surprised to see a billboard advertising a new TV show starring Static; Static goes to meet the producer, Bernie Rast an ego-maniac who treats the people who work for him like dirt to ask how he had the nerve to have a Static TV show without Static's okay. Bernie smoothes thing over and says that he only wants to have cameras following Static and Gear on patrols and they won't even notice them. Static relents. A new villain called Starburst robs a bank and Static tries to stop him. I love Bernie Rast. He is probably the funniest character on this show and QUITE a slimeball and I was glad that he returned twice more. His best moment in the episode is at the end when Starburst screams at Rast that he became a villain because Rast never listened to him and he takes a phone call. I also appreciated him calling Gear a "sidekick" and just being an all-around nuisance to the guys. Honestly, the story here isn't that great and even the fight Virgil and Richie get into doesn't turn out to amount to much but Rast is so funny I just don't care. The animation was all right. I didn't notice any mistakes. I really liked the episode but I'll admit that if you took Rast out of it wouldn't be that great. Story: ***1/2 |
