Warner Bros. Japan said production is currently underway on Suicide Squad ISEKAI, an all-new original anime series based on the popular DC Comics characters. Announced during a special panel at the Anime Expo 2023 convention, the studio stated WIT Studio will be handling the animation production for the series. Watch the announcement trailer below.
Additional details announced include that Suicide Squad ISEKAI will be directed by Eri Osada, with screenplays by Tappei Nagatsuki and Eiji Umehara. Continuing, Naoto Hosoda is the main character designer and Kenichirou Suehiro is the music composer. A teaser poster was also released illustrated by Akira Amano, who’s credited with draft character designs for Suicide Squad ISEKAI. Warner Bros. has also released a selection of images from both the animated movie and of the film talent during a pair of recent events in New York – a May 1 screening at The Directors Guild of America, and a May 2 Q&A and signing at Kinokuniya Bookstore. The talent pictured is director Jumpei Mizusaki, writer Kazuki Nakashima, character designer Takashi Okazaki, Roger Craig Smith (voice of Batman), Tony Hale (Joker), Grey Griffin (Catwoman) and Tara Strong (Harley Quinn).
Produced by Warner Bros. Japan and DC Entertainment, Batman Ninja is now available to own on Blu-ray Steelbook, Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD and Digital HD. The World’s Finest has published its review of the Batman Ninja animated feature, now available to own on Digital HD. In short, Batman Ninja is a huge surprise. The movie manages to continuously up the stakes in unexpected ways, until it just goes so enjoyably and completely off the rails. The story is fun and crazy, the animation is gorgeous, and it’s honestly unlike anything you’ve likely ever seen, Batman-wise. Home Entertainment has opened up new seating for the New York City premiere of Batman Ninja on Tuesday, May 1 at The Directors Guild of America (110 West 57th Street in New York City). The 7:00 pm event will include the screening and a post-screening panel discussion amongst filmmakers and actors. Tickets are free to the public, and RSVP instructions are below.
On Wednesday, May 2, the filmmakers and actors will also make an appearance at Kinokuniya Bookstore (1073 Avenue of the Americas), the preeminent location for anime films, books and merchandise in New York City. There will be a Q&A and a signing of exclusive Batman Ninja posters. This event, starting at 5:30pm, is also free to the public.

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment proudly presents back-to-back nights of Batman Ninja events in New York City with a May 1 screening and panel discussion at The Directors Guild of America, and a May 2 appearance/signing by filmmakers and key voice cast at Kinokuniya Bookstore.
The visually stunning Batman Ninja received outstanding reviews for its World Premiere at WonderCon in late March. The film was officially announced at New York Comic Con in October 2017, thus this two-night New York event – a week prior to the film’s May 8 release on Blu-ray & DVD – completes the circle.
