| Review "Take credit for Batman’s work, but that doesn’t change the fact that without him, all you two are are scared little children." Not a bad introduction for the newest villain in The Batman
universe. Making the episode about breaking out rather than threatening city was a nice change from what one would typically expect to see. We got our new villain introduction, got a feel for who he was, but in a different environment. I wasn’t sure what Black Mask should sound like, but the gravel-voiced James Remar turned out to be an excellent choice. Mask had a very old school gangster feel with the three-piece suit and the pocket watch chain, but he looked a little bit like "The Mask", so I think its best the character isn’t ‘Green Mask.’ Overall though, I liked the haunting look with the unmoving mouth and the evil red eyes. After the initial jealously, it’s great seeing Robin and Batgirl working together and having some fun with this adventure they are on. They’re just kids being kids with their making fun of the criminal with the eye patch and Black Mask. On the flip side, they can defend themselves like when they outsmarted Number One as he tried to enter the police station and when they took out Mask’s thugs in the elevator. With The Batman captured and out of commission until he made the save at the end of the episode, the junior partners were left pretty much on their own and they held it together in the face of a lot.

Barbara Gordon persevered through it all and didn’t let anything stop them.
