Review
Unless you are a fan of the episodes featured on this DVD, and like not a single other, there is no release reason to pick up this barebones DVD release. In an effort to get their VHS catalogue onto DVD, WHV slapped a couple random The Adventures of Batman & Robin episodes onto DVD, with not even a single extra. While the episode selection – "The Laughing Fish, "Christmas With the
Joker," Fire from Olympus," and "Deep Freeze" – is pretty strong, it's not worth it to buy this empty, single volume release, especially when they are available in the larger Batman: The Animated Series multi-disc
DVD volume releases. The main menu contains a list of episodes and audio options. That's it.
Not a single other option. The transfers for these episodes are pretty standard, not amazing but not terrible. In fact, these transfers look slightly inferior to the episode transfers featured on the mutli-disc
Batman: The Animated Series volume release. If you want to chuck away about $5 – 10 dollars on four random episodes, then feel free. These are clearly impulse purchases DVDs. Unless you're an obsessive completist, skip this DVD release and head right for the larger volume disc DVD sets. |
