Composer Frederik Wiedmann Confirmed For “Beware The Batman,” “Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox”
Cinemedia Promotions has announced that composer Frederik Wiedmann, known for his work on the acclaimed Green Lantern: The Animated Series and Avatar: The Last Airbender animated shows, will be providing the score to both the upcoming Cartoon Network animated series Beware The Batman and the DC Universe Animated Original Movie home video release Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox. Both Beware The Batman and Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox are set to debut Summer 2013. The complete press release is available below, right here at The World’s Finest.
ANIMATION SERIES BEWARE THE BATMAN AND DC UNIVERSE ANIMATED
ORIGINAL MOVIE JUSTICE LEAGUE: THE FLASHPOINT PARADOX
Company of Heroes, Featuring Original Music By Wiedmann,
Released on DVD by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment
Composer Frederik Wiedmann is proud to announce that he will be composing the music for the upcoming Warner Bros. Animation series Beware The Batman, to air on Cartoon Network. Additionally, the film Company of Heroes, featuring music by Wiedmann, was recently released on DVD.
A fresh, new take on the classic Dark Knight franchise, Beware The Batman incorporates Batman’s core characters with a rogues’ gallery of new villains not previously seen in animated form. Along with backup from ex-secret agent Alfred and lethal swordstress Katana, the Dark Knight faces the twisted machinations of Gotham City’s criminal underworld led by the likes of Anarky, Professor Pyg, Mister Toad and Magpie. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, this action-packed detective thriller deftly redefines what viewers have come to know as a “Batman show.” Featuring cutting-edge CGI visuals to match the intricate twists and turns of the narrative, Batman steps out of the shadows and into the spotlight for an entirely new generation of fans.
“Creating music to complement the unique look and vibe of this show is an exciting process, with lots of experimentation,” said Wiedmann. “I’ve spent weeks digging deep into the world of sound creation and synthesis, exploring new techniques in the world of digital audio, just to give Gotham the right atmosphere and to give the villains in the show their own unique musical character.”
Wiedmann also contributes original music to the all-new Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox, the next entry in the popular, ongoing series of DC Universe Original Animated Movies, produced by DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will release Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox on July 30, 2013.
“The score for this Justice League story really has everything, from subtle emotion to all-out action, from intricate tension to epic dramatic themes,” described Wiedmann. “It truly was a challenging and rewarding project. This score was recorded in Los Angeles with a wonderful 30-piece orchestra conducted by Hyesu Yang.”
Recently released on DVD and Blu-ray™ was Company of Heroes, with original music by Wiedmann. Inspired by true events, a company of American soldiers is lost behind enemy lines during the Battle of the Bulge and makes a horrific discovery — a super bomb in development. The soldiers soon learn about a secret allied mission to retrieve a defecting German scientist in charge of a secret weapons program. Faced with impossible odds, the company and an escaping POW go on a daring raid into the heart of Nazi Germany in pursuit of the scientist. Starring Tom Sizemore (Saving Private Ryan), Chad Michael Collins (Sniper: Reloaded), Neal McDonough (Captain America: The First Avenger), Vinnie Jones (The Tomb) and Jurgen Prochnow (Das Boot).
Company of Heroes is available wherever DVDs are sold. Beware The Batman will premiere on Cartoon Network later this year.
