“Green Lantern: Emerald Knights” Feature Moves Nearly 335,000 Units On Home Video

According to various home media retailing outlets and independent research, the new Green Lantern: Emerald Knights direct-to-video animated feature remains a high seller on the home video market. The latest DC Universe Animated Original Movie title has now moved nearly 335,000 units in its first three weeks on sale, easily outpacing the sales of the previous Green Lantern-centric release Green Lantern: First Flight. Blu-ray sales of Green Lantern: Emerald Knights continue to dominate over the DVD release with 152,750 DVD units moved in comparison to 181,350 from the high-definition format, coming up less than a thousand units short of 335,000 in total sales. These sales numbers are for the week ending June 26th, 2011. Keep in mind the sales numbers above do not take into account rental numbers, OnDemand numbers, or legal download numbers.
The increase in Blu-ray sales for this DC Universe Animated Original Movie title over its DVD counterpart is not a surprise, given the lack of widely available Two-Disc Special Edition DVD release for Green Lantern: Emerald Knights in the United States.
