“Harley Quinn” Animated Series Renewed For Season Four At HBO Max
HBO Max has renewed the Harley Quinn animated series for a fourth season ahead of the cartoon’s season three finale on Sept. 15, 2022. Season three of Harley Quinn, exclusively available on the HBO Max streaming service with new episodes dropping every Thursday, finds Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy in a relationship together and attempting to terraform Gotham City. Harley Quinn will also undergo a creative shuffle in season four.
Sarah Peters (Workaholics, Master of None, Nathan For You), who has written on the series since season one and currently serves as consulting producer, will be elevated to executive producer and serve as showrunner for season four. Peters is taking over from Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker, who were the previous showrunners and originally developed Harley Quinn with Dean Lorey.
“We are ecstatic that HBO Max wants the story of Harley and Ivy to continue,” Halpern and Schumaker said in a statement. “And we are equally thrilled that this next season will be in great hands with Sarah Peters as our showrunner and Ceci Aranovich overseeing animation production, as they have both greatly influenced the show with their brilliance since the beginning.”
Executives from HBO Max and Warner Bros. Animation also released statements about the acclaimed series’ fourth season renewal.
“Patrick Schumacker, Justin Halpern and their incredible team of artists and writers have created something so explosively funny and original and we are thrilled to continue this journey with them and the show’s legion of fans,” said Billy Wee, Senior Vice President of Comedy & Animation. “It has been amazing to watch the show grow and evolve this season and we could not ask for a more talented and dedicated team of collaborators.”
Peter Girardi, Executive Vice President, Alternative Programming, Warner Bros. Animation adds, “Three seasons down and I can’t even begin to think about the new levels of chaos and trouble that Harley, Ivy and the gang can get into with a fourth season. But I’m grateful to our partners at HBO Max for continuing this insane ride with us so we can all find out.”
Further details on Harley Quinn‘s fourth season are expected in the near future.
HBO Max is also producing a Harley Quinn spin-off series called Noonan’s, which follows Poison Ivy’s ex Kite-Man as he acquires the titular dive bar frequented by various Gotham City villains. Golden Glider and Bane will be series regulars. More details are expected to be announced in 2023.
In related news, HBO Max has no plans at this time to bring the fan-favorite Young Justice animated series back for a fifth season. The streaming service ordered a fourth season of the series in 2020, following two seasons on Cartoon Network and a third on the defunct DC Universe platform, but has no current intentions to order another. The last season of Young Justice concluded in June 2022. Every episode of Young Justice is available to stream on HBO Max.

McFarlane Toys Releasing Special “Batman: The Animated Series” 30th Anniversary Gold Label Deluxe Figure
McFarlane Toys announced it is releasing a special deluxe action figure to mark the 30th anniversary of Batman: The Animated Series. The acclaimed, ground-breaking series originally premiered in 1992. The DC Comics Designer Edition – Batman the Animated Series 30th Anniversary deluxe edition figure, released under the toy manufacturer’s limited edition Gold Label line, is available for exclusive pre-order at Target for $49.99US, and will hit shelves on October 22, 2022. “Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind” Hits 4K Blu-ray, Blu-ray, Digital Oct. 2022 From Warner Bros. Animation

Assisted by a trio of cold Black Dragon mercenaries, he embarks on a brutal assault from town to defenseless town. The choice is simple: Kneel or be annihilated. But when the cocky and talented but undisciplined Kenshi doesn’t take a knee, Kano and his clan destroy the young warrior, taking his eyesight and his confidence. San Diego Comic-Con 2022 “Green Lantern: Beware My Power,” Upcoming DC Universe Movie Titles Coverage
Warner Bros. Animation released images and details from the Green Lantern: Beware My Power movie premiere and discussion panel at the San Diego Comic-Con 2022 pop culture convention on July 22, 2022. The studio also confirmed the four initial animated movies coming from DC Comics and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment in 2023, previously reported here. More details and images can be found below.
It was Christmas in July as Warner Bros. Home Entertainment gave a gift, then tossed in a few surprises at 2022 Comic-Con International this past weekend.
The initial gift — the World Premiere of Green Lantern: Beware My Power — came on Friday night as the enthusiastic Ballroom 20 audience was treated to the first public screening of the latest entry in the 15-year history of the DC Universe Movies. The screening was followed by an exciting, informative and oftentimes funny panel discussion amongst actors Aldis Hodge (John Stewart/Green Lantern), Jimmi Simpson (Green Arrow), Jamie Gray Hyder (Hawkgirl) and Brian Bloom (Adam Strange) alongside the filmmaking quartet of executive producer Butch Lukic, director Jeff Wamester and co-screenwriters John Semper Jr. & Ernie Altbacker. Publicist Gary Miereanu served as moderator.
Among the many panel highlights was Aldis Hodge, the voice of John Stewart/Green Lantern in his first animated feature film starring role, surprising the crowd with an impromptu reciting of the Green Lantern Oath, delivered with an impressive intensity and joy. See the attached photo.
During the later part of the panel discussion, WBHE reminded the crowd of the final DC Animated Movie coming this Fall — Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons (10/18/22) — and then rekindled its Comic-Con tradition of announcing its initial slate of DC Universe Movies and DC Animated Movies for the following year. “Batman: The Doom That Came To Gotham,” “Justice League: Warworld,” “Legion of Super-Heroes” Animated Movies Coming In 2023
Announced during the Green Lantern: Beware My Power movie premiere and discussion panel at the San Diego Comic-Con 2022 pop culture convention on July 22, 2022, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment revealed four upcoming animated releases slated for 2023. The titles, featuring two DC Universe Movie releases and two DC Animated Movie releases, are a mix of original content and adapted material, and spotlight the Justice League and the Legion of Super Heroes, among others. More details are below.
The studio announced Batman: The Doom That Came To Gotham, a loose adaptation of the fan-favorite comic series by Mike Mignola, for the DC Animated Movie line. The acclaimed 2001 comic series offered a Lovecraftian twist on the classic Batman mythos, and was written by Mignola and Richard Pace, with art by Troy Nixey.
The other title set for the DC Animated Movie line is the previously announced RWBY/Justice League crossover animated feature, the full title revealed here to be Justice League x RWBY: Super Heroes and Huntsmen, Part One. More details on that feature are available here.
Lastly, the two DC Universe Movie titles scheduled for 2023 include Justice League: Warworld and Legion of Super Heroes. Both titles are a continuation of the “in-continuity” DC Universe Movie titles that started with Superman: Man of Tomorrow in 2020. While there are no details on Justice League: Warworld, Legion of Super Heroes will be the first time there will be an animated project focused fully on the Legion of Super-Heroes since the animated series ended in 2008. “Harley Quinn” Season Three Regular, Red Band Trailers Released
HBO Max has released regular and red band trailers for the third season of the Harley Quinn animated series, which will debut on HBO Max with three episodes on July 28, 2022. Season three of Harley Quinn finds Harley and Poison Ivy planning to terraform Gotham City. Following the season debut, a new episode of Harley Quinn will debut every Thursday through to September 15, 2022. Continue below for both trailers.

The mayhem and madness continue in season three of this biting and uproarious adult animated comedy series. Wrapping up their “Eat. Bang! Kill. Tour,” Harley Quinn (Kaley Cuoco) and Poison Ivy (Lake Bell) return to Gotham as the new power couple of DC villainy. Along with their ragtag crew – King Shark (Ron Funches), Clayface (Alan Tudyk), Frank the Plant (JB Smoove) – “Harlivy” strives to become the best version of themselves while also working towards Ivy’s long desired plan of transforming Gotham into an Eden paradise.
Based on characters from DC, Harley Quinn is produced by Delicious Non-Sequitur Productions and Yes, Norman Productions in association with Warner Bros. Animation. The series was developed by Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker and Dean Lorey. Executive Producers are Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker, Kaley Cuoco, Sam Register, Jessica Goldstein and Chrissy Pietrosh.
