Cast, Filmmakers to Host Unveiling of Next Two PG-13 Films; Added Surprises in Store for Comic-Con Audiences
The popular DC Universe Animated Original Movie PG-13 films will showcase its next two releases at Comic-Con International with the World Premiere of Green Lantern: First Flight on Thursday, July 23, and a two-part panel featuring cast and filmmakers from Green Lantern: First Flight and Superman/Batman: Public Enemies on Friday, July 24.Comic-Con International credentials are required for admittance to both events.
Green Lantern: First Flight will receive its world premiere on Thursday, July 23 at 8:00 p.m. in the San Diego Convention Centers 4,200-seat Ballroom 20. Green Lantern: First Flight finds Hal Jordan recruited to join the Green Lantern Corps and placed under the supervision of respected senior Lantern Sinestro. The earthling soon discovers his mentor is actually the central figure in a secret conspiracy that threatens the philosophies, traditions and hierarchy of the entire Green Lantern Corps. Hal must quickly hone his newfound powers and combat the treasonous Lanterns within the ranks to maintain order in the universe. Christopher Meloni (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) leads the cast as the voice of Hal Jordan aka Green Lantern. Split into two 45-minute panels, the Green Lantern: First Flight discussion will bring together executive producer Bruce Timm, renowned casting/dialogue director Andrea Romano, director Lauren Montgomery, writer Alan Burnett and members of the cast, including Juliet Landau (Buffy the Vampire Slayer). Then Timm and Romano will be joined by supervising producer Michael Goguen (Justice League: The New Frontier), director Sam Liu (The Batman, Hulk VS.) and writer Stan Berkowitz (Justice League: The New Frontier) for the first public exhibition of film footage and discussion of Superman/Batman: Public Enemies. Kevin Conroy, the undisputed benchmark voice of Batman, joins the panel for his first Comic-Con appearance in six years, as will the definitive voice of Lex Luthor, Clancy Brown (The Shawshank Redemption, Highlander). Based on the popular Jeff Loeb/Ed McGuinness comic series/graphic novel, Superman/Batman: Public Enemies finds United States President Lex Luthor using the oncoming trajectory of a kryptonite asteroid to frame Superman and declare a $1 billion bounty on the heads of the Man of Steel and his partner in crime Batman. Super heroes and super villains alike launch a relentless pursuit of Superman and Batman, who must unite and recruit super help to stave off the action-packed onslaught, stop the asteroid, and uncover Luthors devious plot to take command of far more than North America. Superman/Batman: Public Enemies will be distributed by Warner Home Video on September 29, 2009.

Recent “Wonder Woman” Direct-To-Video Animated Feature Enjoys Consistent Video Sales

Continuing to buck the standard home video trend of a strong debut followed by tepid sales, the direct-to-video Wonder Woman animated feature has managed to keep steady sales since March 2009. Special promotional events, including marketing tie-ins to the upcoming Green Lantern: First Flight and Superman/Batman: Public Enemies direct-to-video animated features releases, are expected to keep the title on track for the remainder of the year.
The Blu-ray sales for Wonder Woman have also remained stable, now selling over an estimated 23,000 Blu-ray copies since hitting shelves at the beginning of March 2009.
