The Hub Officially Announces “Superman: The Animated Series” Added To Schedule

The Hub network has officially announced the addition of Superman: The Animated Series to the network line-up beginning in September 2012. The classic animated series, which originally aired on Kids’WB!, follows the adventures of the Man of Steel. Superman: The Animated Series will replace airings of Batman Beyond as part of the network line-up. Superman: The Animated Series will air Monday – Friday at 9:00am (ET/PT) on The Hub starting September 3rd, 2012. Continue below for official details.

The Hub TV Network Celebrates Labor Day Holiday with the Debut of Three Action Series, Special The Aquabats! Super Show! Marathon, and Aquabats!/ to School Sweepstakes

This Labor Day, The Hub TV Network celebrates the holiday with the addition of three popular action-packed series for kids and their parents as well as a chance to win one of six $1,000 back-to-school shopping sprees. On Monday, September 3, the live-action series, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Sliders, and the critically lauded Superman: The Animated Series will premiere on The Hub, joining a special Labor Day marathon and sweepstakes for the popular series “The Aquabats! Super Show!

The Aquabats! Super Show! Labor Day marathon (Monday, September 3, noon-3 p.m. ET) will feature six back-to-back episodes of the outrageous comedy-adventure series that follows the greatest crime-fighting rock band ever assembled. On-air messaging during the marathon will reveal a show-related code and a toll-free number for the tune-in-to-win “Aquabat! To School! Sweepstakes.” Six viewers chosen at random from those who call will each win a $1,000 back-to-school shopping spree. Details and rules regarding the “Aquabat! To School! Sweepstakes” will be available on www.hubworld.com starting Saturday, August 25.

The three newly acquired series launching on Labor Day build on The Hub’s strategy of presenting programming based on beloved entertainment properties that have strong and devoted fan bases. The new series additions to The Hub’s lineup beginning September 3 follow (all times ET).

Superman: The Animated Series (9 a.m., Mondays-Fridays, with encores throughout the week) follows the legendary superhero in exciting new stories that chronicle the adventures of the last son of Krypton as he protects his adoptive home of Earth by battling the forces of villainy and continuing his quest for truth, justice and the American way. Featuring the vocal talents of Tim Daly (Wings) and Dana Delany (Body of Evidence, Desperate Housewives). Distributed by Warner Bros. Television.

Sliders (10-11 p.m., Mondays-Thursdays) features a young genius (Jerry O’Connell, Crossing Jordan) who invents a teleportation device allowing him and his friends to “slide” between parallel worlds, experiencing places that look familiar to their world, but with sometimes vast differences. Distributed by NBCUniversal Cable and New Media Distribution.

Hercules: The Legendary Journeys (11 p.m.-midnight, Mondays-Thursdays) is an internationally beloved fantasy-action series that features the mythical hero Hercules (Kevin Sorbo, Andromeda) in a time when only one man dared to challenge the gods with a strength the world had never seen before. Hercules ventures on journeys across ancient lands riddled with fantastical creatures and all-powerful deities. Distributed by NBCUniversal Cable and New Media Distribution.

Vortexx Programming Block Schedule Details For “Justice League Unlimited”

The World’s Finest has a look at the September 2012 schedule for Justice League Unlimited episodes airing on the new Vortexx programming block. The critically-acclaimed classic series is back on television thanks to the new programming block, airing on The CW Network starting Saturday, August 25th, 2012. Classic episodes of the series will be a regular part of the block. According to press details provided last week by Saban Brands, the details of which an be found here, Vortexx is an entertainment platform focused on delivering content, activities and products featuring high-energy action, adventure and comedy. Vortexx will provide programming to air Saturdays from 7 a.m. – noon on The CW. New Image From Animated “Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part One” Feature, Screening Update

Warner Home Video has provided The World’s Finest with a new image from the upcoming Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part One animated feature, the latest film in the DC Universe Animated Original Movie line. Arriving on September 25th, 2012 – to Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD, Download, and onDemand – this animated DC Comics-based film is the first in a two-part adaptation of the acclaimed 1980s comic series The Dark Knight Returns starring a retired Batman who dons the cape and cowl to deal with a city decaying into crime. In additional news, a representative for Warner Home Video informs The World’s Finest that seating for the special The Paley Center for Media premieres of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part One is still available at both locations. Warner Home Video and The Paley Center for Media is holding the bi-coastal World Premieres of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 1 in New York on September 20th, 2012 and Los Angeles on September 24th, 2012.

On Thursday, September 20th, 2012 Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 1 will screen at the Paley Center in New York City, located at 25 West 52nd Street, starting at 6:30 p.m. Following the screening, actor David Selby (The Social Network/Dark Shadows), the voice of Commissioner Gordon, and eight-time Emmy Award winning dialogue/casting director Andrea Romano will lead a panel discussion. Additional panelists will be announced as confirmed. Then on Monday, September 24, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 1 will screen at the Paley Center in Los Angeles, located at 465 North Beverly Drive in Beverly Hills. The screening starts at 7:00 p.m. A panel discussion will follow the screening featuring actors David Selby and Ariel Winter (Modern Family), executive producer Bruce Timm, director Jay Oliva, writer Bob Goodman and dialogue/casting director Andrea Romano. Additional participants, including voice cast members, will be announced as confirmed.

A limited number of free tickets are available for the general public. Fans wishing to receive free tickets to the New York event on September 20 must RSVP via email to DKReturns1@gmail.com. Fans wishing to receive free tickets to the Los Angeles event on Sept. 24 must RSVP via email to DKReturns1LA@gmail.com. All fan RSVPs email MUST include the name of the entrant, a valid email, and the name of the media outlet/website by which the entrant learned of the screening. Tickets to both events will be distributed on a “first come, first served” basis.

A co-production of Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group, DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation, the direct-to-video Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part One animated feature debuts September 25th, 20122 on Blu-ray, DVD, OnDemand and for Download from Warner Home Video.
