Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has announced a Blu-ray collection for Superman: The Animated Series will hit shelves starting October 12, 2021. The Superman: The Complete Animated Series Blu-ray release will feature the entire series fully remastered plus hours of bonus material. This follows similar Batman: The Complete Animated Series and Batman Beyond: The Complete Series releases from the studio. A digital Superman: The Complete Animated Series release will also be available on the same date. Continue below for cover art and press details.
BLU-RAY™/DIGITAL BOX SET
REMASTERED FOR 25TH ANNIVERSARY; COMING OCTOBER 12, 2021
FROM WARNER BROS. HOME ENTERTAINMENT
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment and DC are celebrating the 25th anniversary of Superman: The Animated Series with a fully remastered Blu-rayTM box set. Superman: The Complete Animated Series, which includes several hours of bonus features headlined by an all-new documentary detailing the creation of one of the most beloved animated Super Hero cartoons in history, will be available starting October 12, 2021.
Produced by Warner Bros. Animation (WBA), the Emmy Award-winning Superman: The Animated Series was the perfect follow-up to the landmark Batman: the Animated Series. Producers Bruce Timm, Paul Dini and Alan Burnett elevated The Man of Steel’s animated presence with an imaginative, heartfelt look at Superman’s adventures in Metropolis alongside Lois Lane and opposite the villainous likes of Lex Luthor, Brainiac, Darkseid and more. Premiering on September 6, 1996, the series continued WBA’s dominance in Super Hero animation, once again setting new standards for storytelling, art direction and acting performances – and garnering 11 Emmy Award nominations and two Emmy Award wins, including top honors as the Outstanding Special Class Animated Program of 1998.
The remarkable Superman: The Complete Animated Series box set features nearly 21 hours of entertainment spread over six Blu-ray™ discs, including all 54 exciting episodes, an all-new series-defining featurette entitled Superman: Timeless Icon, a special video commentary episode and three specially selected episodes with audio commentaries by the showrunners.
All 54 episodes have been remastered from the original 35mm Interpositive sources, giving special attention to extensive color correction, dirt and scratch clean up, and adding a grain reduction pass to create a pristine picture, all while making sure not to affect the original lines in the artwork of the animation. The audio was retransferred from the original audio masters, and the series is presented in its original aspect ratio (4×3).
The producing quartet of Bruce Timm, Paul Dini, Alan Burnett, and Glen Murakami headed production of Superman: The Animated Series alongside executive producers Jean MacCurdy and Haven Alexander. Shirley Walker and the Dynamic Music Partners (Michael McCuistion, Lolita Ritmanis, Kristopher Carter) composed the award-winning score, while eight-time Emmy Award winning dialogue/casting director Andrea Romano guided a star-studded voice cast. Curt Geda and Dan Riba served as animation directors for more than half of the episodes.
The Superman: The Animated Series cast continued the unrivaled presentation of guest stars that Batman: The Animated Series had initially established. The lengthy cast list is filled with luminaries, their laurels including one Academy Award and 10 Oscar nominations; 37 Emmy Awards and 186 Emmy nominations; 16 Golden Globe Awards and 54 nominations; five Annie Awards and 38 nominations; four Grammy Awards and 14 nominations; and nine individuals honored with stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, including Ed Asner, Mark Hamill, William H. Macy, Marion Ross, Malcolm McDowell, Efrem Zimbalist Jr., Michael York, Roddy McDowall and Paul Williams.
Tim Daly (Madame Secretary, Private Practice, Wings) led the cast as Clark Kent and Superman alongside Dana Delany (Body of Proof, Desperate Housewives, China Beach) as Lois Lane, David Kaufman (Danny Phantom, Stuart Little) as Jimmy Olsen and Clancy Brown (Dexter, The Shawshank Redemption, SpongeBob SquarePants) as Lex Luthor. The star-studded cast included series regulars – and their characters – Lauren Tom (Angela Chen), Victor Brandt (Professor Hamilton), Corey Burton (Brainiac), Joseph Bologna (Dan Turpin), George Dzundza (Perry White), Brad Garrett (Bibbo Bibbowski), Shelley Fabares (Martha Kent), Joanna Cassidy (Maggie Sawyer), Lisa Edelstein (Mercy Graves), Mike Farrell (Jonathan Kent) and Michael Ironside (Darkseid).
Notable series guest stars featured Mark Hamill, Ed Asner, Dean Jones, Melissa Joan Hart, Robert Morse, Al Roker, Brian Cox, Jason Priestley, Peter Gallagher, David Warner, Michael Dorn, Christopher McDonald, Bruce Weitz, Andrea Martin, Miguel Ferrer, Ron Perlman, Bud Cort, Gilbert Gottfried, Robert Hays, Dennis Haysbert, Laraine Newman, Nancy Travis, Xander Berkeley, Jonathan Harris, John Glover, Sandra Bernhard, Jack Carter, Ernie Hudson, Henry Silva, and Robert Patrick.

The World’s Finest Reviews “Batman: The Long Halloween, Part Two”
The World’s Finest has published its review of the DC Universe Movie title Batman: The Long Halloween, Part Two, which is available to own now on Digital HD and is coming to Blu-ray starting August 13, 2021. In short, Batman: The Long Halloween, Part Two is a very satisfying conclusion to one of the strongest adaptations yet from the DC Universe Movie line. Not just that, but the two-part Batman: The Long Halloween animated adaptation might just surpass the source material, too. To read the complete review, click on the image below.

In addition to a detailed review, the above image link also leads to additional content, including video clips, imagery and more. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment describes Batman: The Long Halloween, Part Two as follows:
Inspired by the iconic mid-1990s DC story from Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale, Batman: The Long Halloween, Part Two continues as the Holiday Killer is still at large and, with Bruce Wayne under the spell of the venomous Poison Ivy, Batman is nowhere to be found. Liberated by an unlikely ally, Bruce quickly uncovers the real culprit: Poison Ivy’s employer Carmine Falcone. The Roman, his ranks decimated by Holiday and his business spinning out of control, has been forced to bring on less desirable partners – Gotham City’s rogues’ gallery. In the meantime, Harvey Dent is confronting battles on two fronts: attempting to end the mob war while also dealing with a strained marriage. And, after an attack that leaves Harvey hideously disfigured, the District Attorney unleashes the duality of his psyche that he’s strived his entire life to suppress. Now, as Two-Face, Dent decides to take the law into his own hands and deliver judgment to those who’ve wronged him, his family and all of Gotham. Ultimately, the Dark Knight must put together the tragic pieces that converged to create Two-Face, the Holiday Killer, Batman and Gotham City itself.
The home media release of Batman: The Long Halloween, Part Two also includes the DC Showcase Blue Beetle animated short.
Batman: The Long Halloween, Part Two, the conclusion of a two-part the DC Universe Movie adaptation of the classic comic, is now available on Digital and will arrive August 10, 2021 on Blu-ray. Batman: The Long Halloween, Part One is also currently available on Blu-ray and Digital. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has released the first clip from Batman: The Long Halloween, Part Two, the concluding chapter of the two-part DC Universe Movie adaptation. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation and DC, the animated feature will be available July 27, 2021 on Digital and August 10, 2021 on Blu-ray.

DC Comics also released this press write-up concerning the launch of Justice League Infinity:
Justice League Unlimited, the second groundbreaking animated series focusing on DC’s premiere superteam, ended its far-too-short run in 2008. For many viewers, it was their first exposure to the Justice League, and it’s continued to introduce young superhero fans to the team and their adversaries in the years since. However, the reality is that once you reach that last episode—the Dwayne McDuffie-written “Destroyer,” for those keeping score—that’s just about it. Not only have there been no more Justice League Unlimited episodes, there have been no more series set in the shared animated universe kicked off by Batman: The Animated Series period.
That changes [on July 6], although you won’t find the newest chapter on any TV network or streaming service. Rather, you’ll want to look towards your local comic shop as writers James Tucker and J.M. DeMatteis and artist Ethen Beavers launch Justice League Infinity, an all-new title set within the show’s world that launches [July 6]. If you’re a fan of DC animation, you likely know the names Tucker and DeMatteis. Tucker was a Justice League Unlimited producer who went on to oversee the direction of the DC Universe animated movies, producing a series of interconnected films that culminated last year. DeMatteis served as a writer on Justice League Unlimited and has scripted many of the animated movies that Tucker produced, including Justice League Dark, Batman vs. Robin and Superman: Red Son. In other words, these guys understand DC animation like few others, so rest assured that Justice League Infinity feels (and looks, thanks to Beavers’ striking work) like the series that it’s continuing.
More details on Justice League Infinity are available at The World’s Finest, and more material dedicated to Batman: The Adventures Continue can be found here. On Saturday, July 24 at 4:00pm PT, WBHE celebrates the exhilarating sequel to the 2020 hit Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge with an equally thrilling (and hilarious) panel featuring the stars and filmmakers of Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms. Based on one of the most popular videogame franchises in history, Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms finds our team of heroes besieged by the enemy forces of Shao Kahn – forcing Raiden and his group of warriors into a deal to compete in a final Mortal Kombat that will determine the fate of the realms. Now our heroes must travel to Outworld in order to defend Earthrealm and, simultaneously, Scorpion must find the ancient Kamidogu before it’s used to resurrect the One Being – which would mean certain destruction of all things in the universe. Time is short and the stakes are high in this action-packed continuation of the Mortal Kombat journey. Joel McHale (Community, Stargirl), the voice of Hollywood star-turned-fighter Johnny Cage, headlines a panel that includes Jordan Rodrigues (Lady Bird, The Fosters) as Liu Kang; Dave B. Mitchell (Mortal Kombat 11, Call of Duty franchise) as Raiden, Kintaro & Sektor; screenwriter Jeremy Adams (Supernatural, Justice Society: World War II); producer Rick Morales (Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders, Batman vs. Two-Face); and game co-creator Ed Boon (NetherRealm Studios), who serves the films as the Creative Consultant. Joshua Gray, producer and host of Mortal Kombat Events & Professional Tournaments since 2015, moderates the panel. Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms, an all-new, feature-length film produced by Warner Bros. Animation in coordination with NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. The film arrives from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment on Digital, Blu-ray, and 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack on August 31, 2021.
