Dynamite Comics Launches KickStarter Campaign For “Gargoyles” Classic Comics Collections
Dynamite Comics has announced a special Kickstarter campaign to support a new series of graphic novel releases collecting long-out of-print Gargoyles comic book titles. The campaign is part of Dynamite Comics’ 30th anniversary celebrations for the beloved Disney animated series, which originally debuted in 1994, and would reprint Gargoyles comics originally published by Marvel Comics and SLG Comics. To kick off the new year, and the 30th anniversary of Gargoyles, Dynamite Entertainment is launching its first ever Kickstarter campaign for its Disney Gargoyles titles, offering fans all over the chance to complete their collections with brand new graphic novels collecting long out of print Gargoyles comic books! The Kickstarter is live now!
Dynamite’s new Gargoyles comics have been a smash hit and a favorite of fans new and old since launching at the end of 2022. The debut issue made history as one of the publisher’s best selling titles ever, with fans so excited for franchise creator Greg Weisman to continue his story and present a new vision. Across the initial flagship series, the companion title Dark Ages, and the upcoming Gargoyles: Quest and beyond, fans can continue following the latest adventures wherever comics are sold.
But Gargoyles comics didn’t start in 2022! In fact, Dynamite is the third major publisher to chronicle the adventures of the stone protectors on the page. To celebrate the 30th anniversary, Dynamite is excited to offer three beautiful tomes collecting all of these previous tales for fans. The set is initially being offered on Kickstarter to reach and communicate with diverse fans of all ages directly.
“I’m honestly thrilled that these three volumes will finally give Gargoyles fans easy access to these great stories, including the canon SLG tales!,” said writer Greg Weisman. “I think the Dynamite Kickstarter is a great way for Gargoyles fans to get the word out and to reserve their copies. This could be a once in a lifetime opportunity, so I hope our fans don’t miss out!”
The first volume is the hotly anticipated compilation of the first ever Gargoyles comic series from 1995. This 11-issue title was originally released by Marvel Comics and is set loosely between the first two seasons of the original TV show. The memorable first issue featured a jaw-dropping cover by artist Joe Madureira, one of the biggest superstars of the era from his work on Uncanny X-Men. The series was written by Martin Pasko (Superman) and Mort Todd. Another beloved artist, Amanda Conner (Harley Quinn, Power Girl), experienced some of her earliest breakout success drawing for the series as well as crafting most of the covers. Artist Grant Miehm also contributed, alongside Alberto Saichann and Jimmy Palmiotti inking the interior artwork and covers, respectively. These comics have never before been reprinted in full, and remain sought after by Gargoyles and Disney collectors.
For the Gargoyles faithful, the second and third volumes of the Gargoyles Classic Years will be an incredible treat. From 2006 to 2009, a new Gargoyles comic series launched from SLG Publishing in association with CreatureComics — the first written by Greg Weisman. The main series, often referred to as “Clan Building,” was joined by a companion title, Bad Guys. Issues #9-12 of Gargoyles and #5-6 of Bad Guys did not see release, and were only printed in paperback collections which themselves had small print runs, were produced at a smaller digest size, and have been incredibly expensive for years on the secondary market. Dynamite cannot wait to get these beloved stories that continue the narrative from the show and also flow into the newest comics back into the hands of fans, including those newer to the franchise!
The three volume set is available in multiple variations for different kinds of fans and collectors. Each is available as either hardcover or paperbacks. Deluxe hardcover editions with signed tip-in pages are being offered. For the Gargoyles diehards, the most premium option will be the Gargoyles 30th Anniversary Premier Editions limited to just 1,000 copies each!
In addition to the books at the center of this celebration, the Kickstarter will offer several enticing add-ons for backers. This includes lithograph prints of Jae Lee and Amanda Conner’s covers for Dynamite’s Gargoyles #1. The most premium art piece anyone can get will be a deluxe signed and remarqued giclée print of Lee’s Gargoyles art. In addition to the reprint of the full series, fans can get special facsimile editions of the very first issue with gold or purple foil stamping. Sketch cover options are also available, as well as commissioned original art from Lee. Plus, collector packs of variant cover sets or premium limited editions and metal covers for Dynamite’s series can be added.
The Kickstarter campaign is set for a limited time. Then those who pledge for the books will be getting their hauls fulfilled starting shortly thereafter.

Dynamic Music Partners Releasing “Batman Beyond: Original Soundtrack, Volume One” On Dec. 8, 2023
The World’s Finest is proud to exclusively reveal that Batman Beyond: Original Soundtrack, Vol. 1, featuring music from the acclaimed animated series’ first season, will be released December 8, 2023. This long-awaited soundtrack, featuring a wealth of never-before-available tracks, is being released by Dynamic Soundtrack Records and will be available through all digital retailers and streamers.
Similar to Dynamic Soundtrack Records’ previous two Teen Titans: Original Soundtrack titles, both still available for purchase, this release includes 95 tracks chosen specifically and carefully from the show’s first 13 episodes. Composers/Producers Kristopher Carter, Michael McCuistion & Lolita Ritmanis reached out to The World’s Finest to share their thoughts on this exciting release.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to finally see a Batman Beyond soundtrack become a reality after years of requests from fans!” said Carter. “It’s been an amazing experience to revisit our Batman Beyond work after all these years.”
“The music from Batman Beyond was produced like a record…several days of tracking, overdubs and mixing,” McCuistion explained. “Each of our four studios was running 24/7; we were performing and producing synths, distorting samples and playing electronic drums. We collaborated with several top LA studio musicians who played live guitars, electric bass, acoustic drums and several orchestral instruments including acoustic and electric violins, cellos, French horns and more.”
“This music sounds every bit as modern and heavy-hitting as ever,” said Ritmanis. “It is deeply gratifying to us that we’re able to include music by the late Shirley Walker, our mentor and friend. Her vision and tenacity in securing this series for our team is the stuff of legends.”

Warner Bros. Japan Releases “Suicide Squad ISEKAI” Trailer, Images, Cast, Plot Details
Warner Bros. Japan released not just a new teaser trailer for the upcoming Suicide Squad ISEKAI anime series, but also a collection of images, plot and cast details, plus a special reveal video. Announced back in Summer 2023, Suicide Squad ISEKAI is a collaboration between Warner Bros. Japan and WIT Studio, featuring an all-new story starring DC Comics’ Task Force X, that will see a global release in 2024. DC Comics has scheduled a facsimile edition of Batman Beyond #1, the first issue of the original tie-in mini-series for the acclaimed animated series, to hit comic store shelves on January 9, 2024. Batman Beyond first hit comic shelves in January 1999, starting with a six-issue mini-series before graduating to an ongoing series.
