“Batman and Superman: Battle Of The Super Sons” Soundtrack Coming Oct. 18, 2022
Dynamic Music Partners announced their score to the upcoming Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons animated feature from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will be available to own and stream starting October 18, 2022. The World’s Finest caught up with the acclaimed collective for some comments on the upcoming soundtrack, being released through their Dynamic Soundtrack Records label. The World’s Finest: What’s it like being able to be scoring the beginning of a new generation of super heroes with your latest project, Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons?
Lolita Ritmanis: When I saw the first cut of Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons, it was beyond thrilling! The music was immediately playing in my mind! Composing the score during the pandemic was deeply healing, allowing me to savor every moment of creating soaring melodies, exuberant action music, and heartfelt themes. Producer Rick Morales wanted music to connect us all to our inner child. I am thrilled that Michael, Kristopher and I have an opportunity to share our music with you.
Michael McCuistion: I’ve been so fortunate to have had Batman and Superman in my scoring life for many years, writing music that has become an iconic part of many children’s lives. How cool is it now to be able to score their children’s music?! It feels like such a fresh start, a real beginning of a new era for these beloved heroes with their new families. Being a part of Warner Bros. first full-length CGI project is terrific, too – another beginning – and I am incredibly excited to see what adventures unfold in the near future!
Kristopher Carter: As the father of a just-barely-teenager, myself, I could relate to both the very normal-mortal-person challenges as well as pure joy our two heroes experienced with their kids, and I constantly was drawing upon those feelings as I worked on the score. This movie has so much to offer fans, parents, kids and I’m excited that the music is available to be enjoyed outside the movie too!

HBO Max Announces “Harley Quinn” Animated 2023 Valentine’s Day Special
HBO Max announced it will release Harley Quinn: A Very Problematic Valentine’s Day Special in 2023. The animated special, debuting in February 2023 and exclusive to the U.S. streaming service, spotlights Harley and Ivy, among others, celebrating Valentine’s Day together. HBO Max has announced an upcoming special for the critically acclaimed Max Original adult animated series, Harley Quinn: A Very Problematic Valentine’s Day Special. Coming to HBO Max in February 2023, the special will feature Harley and Ivy celebrating their very first Valentine’s Day together, while also revealing how the rest of the ragtag crew spends the gushiest, mushiest, most romantic day of the year.

In related news, HBO Max says it currently has no plans to order additional episodes of Young Justice. The streaming service ordered a fourth season of the series in 2020, following two seasons on Cartoon Network and a third ordered for the defunct DC Universe platform. The fourth and most recent season of Young Justice concluded in June 2022. To further clarify, Young Justice is not cancelled, but more accurately additional episodes have simply not been ordered as of yet. Young Justice is available to stream on HBO Max.

“Batman and Superman: Battle Of The Super Sons” World Premiere Set For New York Comic Con 2022
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has announced Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons, along with other titles from the studio, will be featured at the upcoming annual New York Comic Con pop-culture event. New images from Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons and Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind were also released. Continue below for the press details and imagery.
ACTING, FILMMAKING TALENT FOR PREMIRES/PANELS
AT NEW YORK COMIC CON 2022
A bevy of popular acting and filmmaking talent will join Warner Bros. Home Entertainment (WBHE) to debut three new animated films at New York Comic Con with world premieres and panels of Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm, Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons and Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind over October 5-9, 2022.
On Thursday, October 6, WBHE will host the World Premiere of Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm at 8:30pm on Main Stage of NYCC. In addition to the screening, the event will lead off with a panel discussion amongst filmmakers and cast, including Carey Means and Dana Snyder, who voice Frylock and Master Shake, respectively, and series co-creators and the film’s directors/writers Dave Willis (who also voices Meatwad) and Matt Maiellaro.
WBHE will host the World Premiere of Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons on Friday, October 7 at 3:30pm on Main Stage, followed by a panel featuring members of the cast and crew led by Jack Dylan Glazer and Jack Griffo, the voices of Jonathan Kent and Damian Wayne, respectively, aloongside Travis Willingham (voice of Superman/Clark Kent), Laura Bailey (voice of Lois Lane), director Matt Peters, screenwriter Jeremy Adams and supervising producer Rick Morales
And on Saturday, October 8, actors Ron Yuan (voice of Kuai Liang/Sub-Zero) and Courtenay Taylor (voice of Kira), producer/director Rick Morales and screenwriter Jeremy Adams will offer behind-the-scenes details and entertaining anecdotes about the making of Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind on a panel at 3:30pm on Main Stage.
In addition, a limited number of free tickets remain for a special premiere screening of Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind on Wednesday, October 5 at 6:30pm at Hudson Yards. See below for more details and instructions to request tickets.

“Batwheels” Debuting Oct. 17, 2022 On Cartoon Network, Next Day On HBO Max
Cartoon Network has announced the preschool-level Batwheels animated series is set to debut in October. The CG-animated series, which follows Batman’s fleet of crime-fighting vehicles, will debut October 17, 2022 on Cartoon Network, followed by its streaming debut October 18, 2022 on HBO Max. Cartoon Network and HBO Max announced Batwheels will officially zoom onto television screens beginning Monday, Oct. 17. The first seven episodes will premiere on Cartoon Network’s Cartoonito preschool block at 9:00 a.m., before streaming the following day on Tuesday, Oct. 18 on the Cartoonito hub on HBO Max.
Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, Batwheels marks DC’s first-ever Batman preschool series, offering young viewers a high-speed, vibrant CGI-animated iteration of the Caped Crusader. Little ones and their families will ride along with an amazing team of super-vehicles—Bam (the Batmobile), Bibi (the Batgirl Cycle), Redbird (Robin’s racecar), Buff (the Bat-Truck), and Batwing (the Bat-plane)—as they help Batman, Batgirl, and Robin keep the streets of Gotham City safe. Whether it’s facing down the Legion of Zoom or one of Gotham City’s notorious Super-Villains, the Batwheels will use their incredible gadgets and creative teamwork to save the day.
Underneath the superhero adventures, Batwheels will teach children about what it means to be a hero through its unique “Hero” curriculum. The curriculum aligns with Cartoonito’s Humancentric Learning framework that encourages kids to become the best version of themselves. Every Batwheels episode will demonstrate a different character strength—self-awareness, concern for others, perseverance, and courage, among others—in overcoming personal and interpersonal challenges and will model how heroes contribute to the greater good.
Batwheels will also showcase the value of friendship and teamwork and illuminate the rewards of these skillsets. Moreover, the series will teach children that while each vehicle has super abilities, the more important capacities that fuel their heroism are rooted in their intrinsic character strengths, knowing how to be a good friend and ability to work as a team.

HBO Max, Warner Bros. Animation Announce “Batman Azteca: Choque De Imperios” Voice Cast
HBO Max and Warner Bros. Animation have announced voice cast details for the streaming service’s upcoming Batman Azteca: Choque De Imperios (Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires) animated feature. Warner Bros. Animation first released details on Batman Azteca: Choque De Imperios in June 2022, stating the HBO Max movie will be produced entirely in Mexico and showcase local talent and the region’s ancient culture.
Batman Azteca: Choque De Imperios brings to life an original story featuring the first Mexican version of the Dark Knight set against the backdrop of the history of Mexico and the culture of Mesoamerica. The upcoming Warner Bros. Animation will be led by Horacio García Rojas (Diablero) as Yohualli (Batman/Bruce Wayne), Omar Chaparro (No Manches Frida films) as Yoka (The Joker) and Álvaro Morte as Hernán Cortés (Two-Face).
The tale centers on a young Aztec boy, Yohualli Coatl, whose father, village leader Toltecatzin, is murdered by Spanish Conquistadors. Coatl flees to Tenochtitlan to warn King Moctezuma and his high priest, Yoka, of looming danger. Using the temple of Tzinacan, the bat god, as a lair, Yohualli trains with his mentor and assistant, Acatzin, developing equipment and weaponry to confront the Spaniard invasion, protect Moctezuma’s temple, and avenge his father’s death.
Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, Anima and Chatrone, Batman Azteca: Choque De Imperios is a Particular Crowd film and based on characters from DC. Juan Meza-León (Harley Quinn) serves as director, and José C. García de Letona, Aaron D. Berger, Carina Schulze and Fernando De Fuentes as producers of the film. “Harley Quinn” Animated Series Renewed For Season Four At HBO Max
HBO Max has renewed the Harley Quinn animated series for a fourth season ahead of the cartoon’s season three finale on Sept. 15, 2022. Season three of Harley Quinn, exclusively available on the HBO Max streaming service with new episodes dropping every Thursday, finds Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy in a relationship together and attempting to terraform Gotham City. Harley Quinn will also undergo a creative shuffle in season four.
Sarah Peters (Workaholics, Master of None, Nathan For You), who has written on the series since season one and currently serves as consulting producer, will be elevated to executive producer and serve as showrunner for season four. Peters is taking over from Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker, who were the previous showrunners and originally developed Harley Quinn with Dean Lorey.
“We are ecstatic that HBO Max wants the story of Harley and Ivy to continue,” Halpern and Schumaker said in a statement. “And we are equally thrilled that this next season will be in great hands with Sarah Peters as our showrunner and Ceci Aranovich overseeing animation production, as they have both greatly influenced the show with their brilliance since the beginning.”
Executives from HBO Max and Warner Bros. Animation also released statements about the acclaimed series’ fourth season renewal.
“Patrick Schumacker, Justin Halpern and their incredible team of artists and writers have created something so explosively funny and original and we are thrilled to continue this journey with them and the show’s legion of fans,” said Billy Wee, Senior Vice President of Comedy & Animation. “It has been amazing to watch the show grow and evolve this season and we could not ask for a more talented and dedicated team of collaborators.”
Peter Girardi, Executive Vice President, Alternative Programming, Warner Bros. Animation adds, “Three seasons down and I can’t even begin to think about the new levels of chaos and trouble that Harley, Ivy and the gang can get into with a fourth season. But I’m grateful to our partners at HBO Max for continuing this insane ride with us so we can all find out.”
Further details on Harley Quinn‘s fourth season are expected in the near future.
HBO Max is also producing a Harley Quinn spin-off series called Noonan’s, which follows Poison Ivy’s ex Kite-Man as he acquires the titular dive bar frequented by various Gotham City villains. Golden Glider and Bane will be series regulars. More details are expected to be announced in 2023.
In related news, HBO Max has no plans at this time to bring the fan-favorite Young Justice animated series back for a fifth season. The streaming service ordered a fourth season of the series in 2020, following two seasons on Cartoon Network and a third on the defunct DC Universe platform, but has no current intentions to order another. The last season of Young Justice concluded in June 2022. Every episode of Young Justice is available to stream on HBO Max.
