IDW Publishing, DC Comics Announce “Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures” Comic Mini-Series
IDW Publishing and DC Comics have announced the companies will co-publish Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures, a comic mini-series slated to hit shelves later this year. The series will bring together the Batman: The Animated Series universe and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Nickelodeon universe for an all-new original series. The official press release for the upcoming series can be found below, along with a promotional image.
and Star Trek/Green Lantern Crossovers Forthcoming
IDW Publishing and DC Entertainment will continue their successful partnership and bring fans two new comic book crossovers based on some of their most popular properties, including a sequel to the smash-hit co-publishing venture Star Trek/Green Lantern and an all new crossover with animation-inspired versions of Batman and Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Captain Kirk and the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise will once again cross paths with the Green Lantern Corps in a sequel to last year’s Star Trek/Green Lantern series. The creative team of Mike Johnson and Angel Hernandez will reteam for another epic space opera, this one picking up the new status quo where it left off and introducing additional cosmic heroes and villains familiar to fans of both series. This series is slated for a winter 2016 launch.
Following the recent success of Batman/TMNT, IDW, DC, and Nickelodeon are also happy to announce another pairing between the Caped Crusader and the Ninja Turtles: Batman/TMNT Adventures, coming this November. Based on the animated versions of both series, this storyline for fans of all ages will bring the Dark Knight of the beloved Batman: The Animated Series in contact with Nickelodeon’s animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The dynamic duo of writer Matthew K. Manning (Beware the Batman) and artist Jon Sommariva (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Amazing Adventures) will team on the series.
“The previous Star Trek/Green Lantern and Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossovers were a huge hit with fans of each of the characters,” said Hank Kanalz, DC SVP of Editorial Strategy and Administration. “Bringing these characters back again, and expanding Batman and the Turtles to the realm where they’re most recognized by comic fans and fans of the TV series will make for a great story that any fan can’t wait to read.”
“It’s always a blast to pair up beloved characters in comic series, and our recent pairings with DC have been especially satisfying on a creative level and in regards to fan satisfaction, too,” said Chris Ryall, IDW’s Chief Creative Officer. “We’re happy to extend both the partnership with DC and these particular storylines in new ways, and being able to bring Ciro Nieli’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to the amazing animated Gotham envisioned by Bruce Timm and Eric Radomski is just an added bonus.”
Stay tuned for more upcoming news regarding these massively popular pairings from two of today’s most premier comic book publishers.

· Harley Quinn is the resident class clown who lives for jokes and over-the-top pranks. Nonetheless, this quick-witted gymnast is sneaky and full of surprises.
· Bumblebee has the ability to shrink, allowing her to sneak around without being spotted. She makes sure her team is never surprised by any villains or enemies up to no good.
· Poison Ivy, got caught up in a botched lab experiment, and now has the ability to control and summon plants. She’s gradually adapting to her amazing new powers and blossoming into her new life.

Second Season Of “DC Super Hero Girls” Debuts April 21, 2016, Press Interview With Anais Fairweather
Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment have rolled out the first episode for the second season of DC Super Hero Girls. The episode, titled “New Beginnings,” spotlights Supergirl. The new season of DC Super Hero Girls debuts April 21, 2016, though the first episode has been released early to the press. The episode can be viewed through the official DC Super Hero Girls website or in the player below. Also below is a press interview, conducted and released by DC Comics, featuring Anais Fairweather, the voice of Supergirl for DC Super Hero Girls. Continue on to read the press interview and watch the first episode of the new season of DC Super Hero Girls.
DC Super Hero Girls is back! Season two debuts today, and the Super Hero High roster has gained some new faces. The episode, titled “New Beginnings,” spotlights Supergirl.
Inspired by Wonder Woman, Supergirl overcame her fears and enrolled in the exciting high school. The Kryptonian hero was introduced in the recent television special on Boomerang and will continue to find her way in the upcoming season. We spoke with the voice behind Supergirl, Anais Fairweather, and she says Supergirl is trying to determine her path.
“Her dynamic is that she really is genuinely learning about herself and learning about the other girls at the school and wanting to take something from all of them,” says Fairweather. “I really believe she wants to learn from each one of them in their own way and become close to them and find her home here because she’s so far away from her actual home. I could really feel that sense of her wanting to find her place.”
Supergirl obviously has impressive abilities and super powers at her disposal, but it doesn’t mean she’s invincible. Like the other students at Super Hero High, she’s growing up and that comes with its own hurdles and lessons. She has flaws, and she’s figuring things out. The characters’ human, relatable traits are one aspect about DC Super Hero Girls that makes the series appealing to kids (along with adults, if we’re being honest) and so is the friendship between the girls. Fairweather likes how the show emphasizes that.
“I think so much of the time we’re seeing women on television being pinned against each other, and it’s so wonderful to have this show for young women so that they can see other women supporting each other and building each other up. It’s important,” she says.
Fairweather also sees the effect of the series firsthand in her personal life. “I have a niece who’s four years old and she loves the show,” she explains. “I’m so glad she finally has something that she can connect to. This is one of the first things like this, and it’s so, so great for her. I see her running around the house pretending to be Supergirl with the cape on, and she’s got her little arm ahead of her and she’s flying through the dining room. It makes me feel emotional because I’m just so, so glad that we live in a world where this is happening and she gets to see this and want to embody these girls who are wonderful characters. Any possible chance to empower young women, that’s genuinely my goal in life. It feels so good to be a part of this.”
As mentioned, Supergirl has a few challenges to wrestle with, but her biggest one doesn’t have to do with saving the day or world, it has do with believing in herself. Fairweather thinks that’s definitely Supergirl’s struggle.
“You see her constantly coming up against herself and questioning herself. Is she powerful enough? Is she ready? Does she have enough training? I think the biggest thing for her is really believing in herself. I so badly want young girls to believe in themselves and to take risks and to not let people stand in their way. It’s so important to trust and to know that you can do this. I think a big thing is to call on help and to not be afraid to ask people for help. I think another one of her challenges is to not apologize so much.”
The official second season debut of DC Super Hero Girls is Friday, April 21, 2016, but Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment released the season premiere episode early for promotional reasons. New episodes of DC Super Hero Girl will debut every two weeks – on Friday – for the duration of the second season.
