“Beware The Batman” Removed From Cartoon Network, January 2014 Return Scheduled
Representatives for Cartoon Network have confirmed that Beware The Batman has been removed from the network schedule, and is currently on hiatus. The CG-animated series, which aired Saturday and Sunday mornings at 10:00am (ET/PT) on Cartoon Network as part of the DC Nation programming block, will be replaced with additional airings of the comedy-adventure series Teen Titans Go!. Fans took notice of the change when the show was removed from the official Cartoon Network schedule page earlier this week. A new episode of the series, “Attraction” – spotlighting Katana and Magpie – was originally slated to air this coming Saturday, October 26th, 2013 at 10:00am (ET/PT). It has since been replaced with Teen Titans Go! repeats.
“Currently Beware the Batman is no longer on our air,” said a representative for Cartoon network, adding viewers should stay tuned for additional information. “Fans can still enjoy Teen Titans Go! and new exclusive shorts on Saturday mornings.”
No reasons for Beware The Batman‘s removal from the schedule were provided.
However, sources have confirmed for The World’s Finest that Beware The Batman is set to return to Cartoon Network come January 2014. The remaining fifteen episodes are slated to be aired within the first half of 2014, though schedule details are subject to last-minute change. Beware The Batman also currently remains in active production. Anthony Ruivivar, the voice of Batman on Beware The Batman, confirmed the January 2014 return date on the social media outlet Twitter.
Beware The Batman debuted July 2013 on Cartoon Network, netting average but consistent ratings for the animation-themed channel. Beware the Batman incorporates Batman’s core characters with a rogue gallery of new villains not previously seen in animated form. Along with backup from ex-secret agent Alfred and lethal swordstress Katana, the Dark Knight faces the twisted machinations of Gotham City’s criminal underworld. Eleven episodes of the series have aired thus far.

“Batman: Arkham Origins” coming to all major video game consoles October 25th, 2013!
Coverage Of The “Justice League: War” Panel At New York Comic-Con 2013
Content and news from the upcoming Justice League: War animated feature, among other upcoming DC Universe Animated Original Movie titles, were unveiled at the 2013 New York Comic-Con. The convention – the East Coast’s biggest popular culture event spotlighting everything from comics to movies to television – is being held October 10th – 13th, 2013 at the Javits Center in New York. Justice League: War, the upcoming DC Universe Animated Original Movie title scheduled for release come Early 2014, will be an adaptation of the “Justice League: Origin” storyline recently published by DC Comics. “Justice League: Origin,” written by Geoff Johns with artwork by Jim Lee and Scott Williams, kicked off the comic publisher’s current ongoing “The New 52” comic-line initiative.
Participants on the Justice League: War New York Comic-Con panel included moderator Gary Miereanu, producer James Tucker, director Jay Oliva, voice director Andrea Romano, and actor Jason O’Mara. While introducing participants, Miereanu called O’Mara the “Batman voice for some time to come.”

Discussing his new role as the voice of Batman, O’Mara said it was a “thrill and an honor,” and never expected to get the call. O’Mara said he grew up with Batman and felt very pressured, and especially concerned, about the fan reaction to his performance. O’Mara said he was worried fans would say “bring back Kevin Conroy,” and joked that Conroy choked him when they first met. O’Mara said his turn as Batman is just one version, the New 52 version, of the multifaceted franchise.
Tucker added that DC Comics’ The New 52 initiative will serve as the blueprint for the home video franchise going forward beginning with Justice League: War. Going into detail, Tucker said characters will meet for the first time, get thrown into new situations for the first time, and so forth. More original stories will also be coming in the future to the DC Universe Animated Original Movie line. Oliva added that character designs by Young Justice‘s Phil Bourassa going forward will still be iconic, but take influence from the recent The New 52 character redesigns by Jim Lee. Justice League: War will also establish an ongoing continuity with most – but not all – upcoming titles in the DC Universe Animated Original Movie line.
During the question and answer segment of the panel, a few new details from the Justice League: War came about, along with details on other upcoming titles.
-Shazam was added to the line-up of the Justice League: War, as suggested by Geoff Johns, to help bring some levity to the dark, gritty animated movie. Some of Shazam’s backstory will be included in the movie, with Tucker adding people will be surprised by how he fits into Justice League: War.
-When asked if there were cameos or teases for upcoming animated movie storylines hinted in Justice League: War, Oliva said “maybe.”
-Tucker admitted a possible Green Lantern: Blackest Night animated feature was “discussed,” as was Green Lantern: The Sinestro Corps War.
-Oliva confirmed that footage from the forthcoming Batman: Assault on Arkham animated movie, based in the “Arkham” videogame universe, is coming back from overseas animation studios and it looks “badass.” Miereanu noted O’Mara is excited for fans to see Batman: Assault on Arkham.
-When asked how The New 52 will evolve the DC Universe Animated Original Movie’s continuity, Tucker said The New 52 will be a jumping-off point to tell more modern-day stories. The movies will keep the “flavor” of The New 52, though won’t sync up entirely.
-Tucker said there will be “Elseworlds”-type ‘things’ coming down the line, though did not specify the exact format. Oliva added that “Superman: Red Son” and “Batman: Gotham by Gaslight” were discussed as possible future titles.
-As for adapting assorted Vertigo Comics titles, Tucker said some have been “considered,” and certain characters may make their way into future DC Universe Animated Original Movie titles now that some Vertigo characters have been folded into The New 52 continuity.
-The panelists confirmed that interest remains in a Batman Beyond animated feature, and that Bruce Timm “has an idea.”
The panel featured a trailer from the Frank Miller-based documentary featured on the new Batman: The Dark Knight Returns – Deluxe Edition home video release, and clips from the forthcoming Justice League: War animated feature. Justice League: War clips included the first meeting between Batman and Green Lantern, Wonder Woman trying ice cream for the first time, and Superman, Batman, and Green Lantern fighting Parademons.
George Newbern was also announced as the voice of Steve Trevor in Justice League: War.
Justice League: War is set for release come Early 2014 as part of the DC Universe Animated Original Movie line from Warner Home Video. Stay tuned for further updates and more here soon at The World’s Finest.
