“Batman Beyond” Animated Series Returns January 2013 To The Hub Network
After a brief hiatus from the network, Batman Beyond is set to return to the The Hub network beginning January 7th, 2013. The series will join network mainstays Batman: The Animated Series and Superman: The Animated Series as part of the Monday – Friday weekday line-up, airing at 6:00pm (ET/PT). Batman Beyond was part of the network’s initial schedule launch back in October 2010. Batman Beyond follows the adventures of a new futuristic Batman in Gotham City roughly 40 years in the future. November 2012 Sales Estimates For “Young Justice,” “Green Lantern: The Animated Series” Comics
Sales estimates for the November 2012-shipping issues of the Young Justice and Green Lantern: The Animated Series comic titles are now available. The sales numbers below are estimates based on the information provided by Diamond Comics Distributors made available earlier this month.
Green Lantern: The Animated Series #8 moved an estimated 5,961 copies to North American comic book stores during the month of November 2012. The comic title has experiencing a steady erosion of sales since its debut earlier this year, a normal occurrence for any comic title, but has now started to slip below its level of an estimated 6,000 sales per month. Sales for Green Lantern: The Animated Series #0 – the special preview issue of the title – hit 13,600 when it first debuted.
The November 2012 issue of Young Justice, issue #22, sold an estimated 7,344 copies to comic shops in North America. The title has been experiencing a slow growth in sales from month to month for the past year, but experienced a drop of roughly 200 ordered issues between October 2012 and November 2012. The decline in sales is likely attributed to the announcement of the title’s end with issue #25. Please note these numbers do not take into account copies appearing on newsstands or sold digitally.

The Hub Airing Holiday-Themed Episodes Of “Batman: The Animated Series”
The classic Batman: The Animated Series episodes “Christmas with the Joker” and “Holiday Knights” are scheduled to air as part of special holiday-programming on The Hub network. Both episodes feature Batman and his supporting cast facing off against villains with a holiday backdrop. The Hub will air the episodes back-to-back as part of a holiday programming event on Tuesday, December 25th, 2012 starting at 7:00pm (ET/PT). Official details, including airdates, are included below.

The Joker takes over Gotham’s airwaves and terrorizes the city during Christmas. Holding Commissioner Gordon, Detective Bullock, and Summer Gleason hostage, he challenges Batman to find him before midnight, or else the hostages will have a very un-merry Christmas.

Tuesday, December 25th, 2012 at 7:30pm on The Hub
Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy kidnap Bruce Wayne with Ivy’s hypnotic lipstick, and use his credit cards to treat themselves to a Christmas shopping spree; Bullock and Montoya stake out a Gotham Department Store for pick pockets, but in actuality, it turns out to be the return of Clayface; Joker plans to kill all the people celebrating in Gotham Square on New Year’s Eve with a sonic weapon. It is up to Batman and Robin to stop him before the stroke of midnight.

Cartoon Network has officially provided The World’s Finest with teaser videos for the upcoming January 2013 returns of Green Lantern: The Animated Series, Young Justice, and the one-hour DC Nation programming block. Cartoon Network released these teaser videos earlier in the week solely through their assorted social media outlets. All three videos spotlight upcoming episodes of the DC Nation series Young Justice and Green Lantern: The Animated Series, along with bonus material set to air during the hour-long programming block. Unlike other websites, The World’s Finest gained permission of the network to post the videos. All three videos are presented in the MP4 format. Warner Home Video Announces Bi-Coastal Premieres For “Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part Two,” New Images
Warner Home Video has provided the following press details for the bi-coastal premieres of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part Two, the latest film in the DC Universe Animated Original Movie line. Arriving on home video January 29th, 2013, this latest animated DC Comics-based film is the conclusion to the two-part adaptation of the acclaimed 1980s comic series The Dark Knight Returns starring a retired Batman who dons the cape and cowl to deal with a city decaying into crime. Similar to previous titles in the DC Universe Animated Original Movie line, including the first installment of this two-part animated feature, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part Two is receiving a big-screen debut in partnership with the historic The Paley Center for Media. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment and The Paley Center for Media proudly present the bi-coastal premieres of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 2, the epic conclusion to Frank Miller’s comic masterpiece and the next entry in the popular, ongoing series of DC Universe Animated Original PG-13 Movies. The film will have its World Premiere in New York on January 23, 2013 and its West Coast Premiere in Los Angeles on January 28, 2013. Filmmakers and members of the voice cast will attend both events for red carpet media interviews and post-screening panel discussions.
On Wednesday, January 23, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 2 will screen at the Paley Center in New York City (25 West 52nd Street) with media interviews starting at 5:15 p.m. and screening commencing at 6:30 p.m. Following the screening, cast and filmmakers – led by eight-time Emmy Award winning dialogue/casting director Andrea Romano – will take part in a panel discussion of the film. Additional panelists will be announced as confirmed.
On Monday, January 28, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 2 will screen at the Paley Center in Los Angeles (465 North Beverly Drive in Beverly Hills) with media interviews starting at 5:30 p.m. and screening commencing at 7:00 p.m. A panel discussion will follow the screening featuring cast and filmmakers including executive producer Bruce Timm, director Jay Oliva, writer Bob Goodman and dialogue/casting director Andrea Romano. Additional participants will be announced as confirmed.
A limited number of free tickets are available for the general public.

Cartoon Network Issues Press Release For The January 2013 Return of DC Nation
Cartoon Network has issued the following press release announcing the long-anticipated return of the DC Nation block – along with other new programs – to the network’s Saturday morning line-up starting January 2013. News broke yesterday that the block was confirmed to return Saturday, January 5th, 2013 after a sudden three-month hiatus. Continue below for the press release.

Ring in the New Year with a Rousing Saturday Morning Line-Up Starting January 5 at 9 a.m. (ET, PT)
Cartoon Network revs up its Saturday morning slate with new episodes during its hit and beloved action block, including Ben 10 Omniverse, Star Wars: The Clone Wars and DC Nation beginning January 5th. Cartoon Network Studios’ original series, Ben 10 Omniverse kicks-off the Saturday morning line-up at 9 a.m. (ET, PT) with guest star Aziz Ansari (Parks and Recreation), followed by the special 100th episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars at 9:30 a.m. (ET, PT). The highly-anticipated return of DC Nation rounds out the morning at 10 a.m. (ET, PT) featuring all-new content, including episodes of Green Lantern: The Animated Series, Young Justice: Invasion and all-new animated shorts featuring characters from the DC Comics universe.
Ben 10 Omniverse welcomes Aziz Ansari (Parks and Recreation) as he makes his Omniverse debut as Billy Billions, Ben’s childhood rival, in the episode “Arrested Development.” Ben and Rook, animation’s newest odd couple, see their troubles grow as they are literally downsized when Billy Billions traps them in their own pre-pubescent bodies. The pint-sized heroes face giant challenges and must stop the evil Robots from Dimension 12 and save Bellwood.
Season five of Lucasfilm Animation’s Star Wars: The Clone Wars ushers in the 100th episode of the series, “Missing in Action.” In a nearly vacant town on a strange planet, the intrepid members of D-Squad discover Gregor, a clone commando who has lost his memory, and is toiling away as a dishwasher. The all-droid squad and their gruff leader must help Gregor regain his memory so they can steal a heavily guarded shuttle and return to the Republic.
Warner Bros. Animation’s DC Nation programming block comes soaring back, bringing action from the pages of DC Comics to the television screens of comic book fans of all ages. Green Lantern: The Animated Series goes retro-futuristic when it starts the block with the episode “Steam Lantern.” After being blasted by the Anti-Monitor, Hal finds himself in a steampunk world. Young Justice: Invasion answers lingering questions from the past season with “Before the Dawn,” when Blue Beetle, Miss Martian and the team go on a covert mission to rescue some of their own, uncovering shocking secrets and devastating truths. In between episodes, fans will enjoy all-new DC animated shorts starring some of their favorite DC Comics characters.

New “Young Justice,” “Green Lantern: The Animated Series” Episodes Return January 5th, 2013
Cartoon Network has confirmed the January 5th, 2013 return of the DC Nation programming block. With the return of the block comes new episodes of Green Lantern: The Animated Series, Young Justice, and new DC Nation animated shorts. A representative for Cartoon Network told The World’s Finest the network is expected to issue a press release about the return of the programming block. The episodes of Green Lantern: The Animated Series and Young Justice slated for January 5th, 2013 were both originally set to debut on October 13th, 2012 before Cartoon Network unexpectedly pulled the DC Nation programming block off the air. Repeats of other Cartoon Network titles were aired in place of the programming block during its hiatus. Representatives for Cartoon Network have yet to provide an explanation for the last-minute pulling of the programming block.
