“Justice League” And “Justice League Unlimited,” “The Batman,” “Static Shock,” More, Coming February 2021 To HBO Max
HBO Max has announced that Justice League, Justice League Unlimited and Batman: The Brave and The Bold will be joining the streaming service starting February 1, 2021, with Static Shock and The Batman to be available starting February 15, 2021. HBO Max is an American-based subscription video on demand streaming service from AT&T’s Warner Media, which also owns publisher DC Comics and its characters.
Warner Media confirms all 52 episodes of Justice League will be available, as will all 39 episodes of its sequel series, Justice League Unlimited. Every episode of Static Shock, Batman: The Brave and the Bold, as well as The Batman and its spin-off movie, The Batman vs. Dracula, will also be streamable on HBO Max. The majority of the DC Comics-based animated and live-action content was previously available on the DC Universe streaming service, which became a comics-exclusive streaming platform in January 2021.
The World’s Finest can also confirm exclusively, courtesy of HBO Max, that both Static Shock and The Batman will be available on the streaming service in high-definition widescreen, a first for both of these series in terms of home media releases.
HBO Max and Warner Media have provided program descriptions for Justice League, Justice League Unlimited, Batman: The Brave and The Bold, Static Shock and The Batman, all of which are available below:
Static Shock
Based on characters from the DC Comics series, superhero Virgil Hawkins and his classmates confront real problems and issues faced by today’s teens: peer pressure, gangs and growing up in an ethnically diverse, urban neighborhood. But helping people and making a positive impact in his community gives a real charge to this newfound superhero in the animated adventures of Static Shock.
The Batman
In Gotham, a metropolis where shadows run long and deep, lives The Batman. He’s in his mid-twenties and just finding his way as protector, defender and Caped Crusader, while maintaining his public persona as billionaire bachelor Bruce Wayne. This younger Batman confronts updated versions of familiar foes, meeting each member of his classic Rogues’ Gallery for the first time. With the likes of Joker, Penguin, Catwoman, Mr. Freeze, Riddler and Man-Bat, among others, the Dark Knight takes his war on crime to the next level, employing a new arsenal of experimental Bat-gadgets and amped-up Batmobile, all operated and linked by an advanced remote-controlled invention he dubs the “BatWave.” Join the most complex and intriguing character in comic book history for action-packed super heroic adventures that test the limits of this legendary character’s extraordinary physical prowess and super-sleuthing skills.
Batman: The Brave and The Bold
Batman isn’t going at it alone this time! The Caped Crusader teams up with heroes from across the DC Universe, delivering nonstop action and adventure with a touch of comic relief. Blue Beetle, Green Arrow, Aquaman and others fight crime alongside Batman, although their differing powers and personalities are often at odds with the Dark Knight’s style. While still based in Gotham, Batman often travels beyond the Gotham City limits, facing situations both unfamiliar and exhilarating. With formidable foes around every corner, Batman still relies on his stealth, resourcefulness, and limitless supply of cool gadgets to uphold justice.
Justice League
In this action-packed adventure series, the world’s greatest superheroes, including Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash, Hawkgirl and Martian Manhunter, join forces as the Justice League to battle powerful villains, supernatural creatures and evil entities determined to take over the world and destroy the League. “Harley Quinn: The Complete First And Second Seasons” Coming February 16, 2021 To Blu-Ray
Warner Archive, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment’s specialty manufacture-on-demand label, announced the first two seasons of the Harley Quinn animated series will be available February 16, 2021 on Blu-ray. The first season of the animated series is already available on DVD, with the second season hitting that format also on February 16, 2021 from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. Harley Quinn (Kaley Cuoco) has finally broken things off once and for all with the Joker (Alan Tudyk) and attempts to make it on her own as the criminal Queenpin of Gotham City in this half-hour adult animated action-comedy series. HBO Max has announced that Batman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond and Green Lantern: The Animated Series, among many other titles, will be joining the streaming service starting January 1, 2021. HBO Max is an American-based subscription video on demand streaming service from AT&T’s Warner Media, which owns publisher DC Comics and its characters.
Warner Media confirms that all 109 episodes of Batman: The Animated Series will be available, as will all 52 episodes of Batman Beyond and 26 episodes of Green Lantern: The Animated Series. Also confirmed is the addition of Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker. HBO Max previously added Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, Batman & Mr. Freeze: Sub-Zero, Batman & Harley Quinn back in July 2020, with Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman also recently added to the service’s library. The majority of the DC Comics-based animated content coming to HBO Max was previously available on the DC Universe streaming service, which is in the process of switching over to a comics-exclusive streaming platform starting January 2021.
Additional related titles coming January 2021 to HBO Max include the DC Showcase Batman: Death in the Family interactive animated short, the CW Seed Vixen animated series, and the DC Universe Movie titles Batman: Bad Blood, Batman: Hush, Justice League Dark: Apokolips War, Superman: Doomsday and Superman: Man of Tomorrow. HBO Max has been regularly adding DC Comics-based animated and live-action content since it launched May 27, 2020, including porting over content from the DC Universe service such as the Harley Quinn and Young Justice animated series. More content – both new and classic – is slated to be added to the service in 2021 and beyond.
Additionally, The Batman is slated to join the streaming service starting February 15, 2021. All 65 episodes plus the series’ spin-off feature will be available.

Batman: The Animated Series

Batman Beyond
Terry McGinnis was just an ordinary teenager…until his father was mysteriously murdered. Green Lantern: The Animated Series
The Green Lantern lights up adventure in this CG animated action series from world-renowned producer, artist and animator Bruce Timm (Batman: The Animated Series, Justice League). Based upon the DC Comics legend, this 26-episode groundbreaking superhero series follows Earth’s Green Lantern, Hal Jordan, a onetime test pilot who’s used to being in dangerous situations – but he’s never faced anything like this! Set in the farthest reaches of deep space, Green Lantern: The Animated Series finds Hal on the Guardian Frontier, where he must face down an invasion from the Red Lantern Corps. DC Comics Releasing “Batman Adventures: Riddle Me This!” Trade Collection In April 2021
DC Comics is releasing a new Batman Adventures trade paperback collection come April 2021, as shown in DC Comics’ March 2021 comic solicitations. The collection, titled Batman Adventures: Riddle Me This!, includes an assortment of issues from both Batman: Gotham Adventures and Batman Adventures, focused on the classic Batman foe. Animation and DC, the 1970s-inspired animated feature hits Digital on January 12, 2021 and comes to 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack, Blu-ray on January 26, 2021. The film is rated R for some violence. Renowned animation producer Bruce Timm takes the Dark Knight back to the 1970s for a supernatural-laden martial arts extravaganza in Batman: Soul of the Dragon, the next entry in the popular series of the DC Universe Movies. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation and DC, the feature-length animated film will be released by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment on Digital starting January 12, 2021, and on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack and Blu-ray on January 26, 2021. The film is rated R for some violence.
Batman: Soul of the Dragon will be available on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack (USA $39.99 SRP; Canada $44.98 SRP) and Blu-ray (USA $29.98 SRP; Canada $39.99 SRP) as well as on Digital. The 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack features an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc in 4K with HDR, a Blu-ray disc featuring the film in hi-definition, and a digital version of the movie. The Blu-ray features a Blu-ray disc with the film in hi-definition and a digital version of the movie.
Set in the midst of the swinging 1970s, this Elseworlds adventure finds Bruce Wayne training under a master sensei. It is here that Bruce, along with other elite students, is forged in the fire of the martial arts discipline. The lifelong bonds they form will be put to the test when a deadly menace arises from their past. It will take the combined efforts of Batman, world-renowned martial artists Richard Dragon, Ben Turner and Lady Shiva, and their mentor O-Sensei to battle the monsters of this world and beyond!
The ensemble cast features a core group of actors playing martial arts students-turned-heroes in David Giuntoli (Grimm, A Million Little Things) as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Mark Dacascos (John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, Iron Chef America, Hawaii Five-0) as Richard Dragon, Kelly Hu (Arrow, X2: X-Men United) as Lady Shiva and Michael Jai White (Spawn, reprising his role from Arrow) as Ben Turner/Bronze Tiger. Their mentor O-Sensei is voiced by James Hong (Big Trouble in Little China, Blade Runner). Josh Keaton (Voltron: Legendary Defender; Green Lantern: The Animated Series) is featured as Jeffrey Burr, and additional voices are provided by veteran voiceover actors Grey Griffin, Chris Cox, Erica Luttrell, Robin Atkin Downes, Patrick Seitz, Jamie Chung and Eric Bauza.
Sam Liu (Reign of the Supermen, Batman: The Killing Joke) is Producer and Director of Batman: Soul of the Dragon, utilizing a script by Jeremy Adams (Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge). Producers are Jim Krieg (Batman: Gotham by Gaslight) and Kimberly S. Moreau (Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). Bruce Timm (Batman: The Animated Series, Superman: Red Son) and Sam Register are Executive Producers. Michael Uslan is Executive Producer.
The film is dedicated to legendary DC writer Dennis O’Neil, who co-created the characters Richard Dragon, O-Sensei, Bronze Tiger and Lady Shiva. O’Neil passed away on June 11, 2020.
